Chapter 9
...Hostile Housewives and Misplaced Giggling...
Turns out, the lady that walked in on us happened to be the owner of the joint. And when she found us smoking illegal drugs and 'fooling around' in the closet, she called the cops as soon as she could get her hands on a phone. It was pretty comical watching her run around like Shaq on steroids not to mention Donovan was jumping out of his bridges.

"So..." I trailed off throwing the ball that the officer had given me, at the blank white wall of the holding cell as Donovan paced around the tiny space. He was running his hands through his hair, biting his lip, and sweating profusely.
Yes, I know what that means.
I swore at that moment, if he had kept pacing the soles of his shoe would either burn out or he'd collapse on the ground in anguish. His eyes were bloodshot, the high he was on was faded and he just looked internally defeated.
Two hours. Two hours in this miniature death chamber with a toilet which was out in the open. What the fuck were we? Cavemen?
"I guess we should've locked the door huh?" I smiled awkwardly as he furrowed his eyebrows. Then panic consumed his features.
He turned away from me, his miniature muscles tense as he continued to pace around the perimeter giving me a slight headache. "Donny, sit the fuck down before your legs break." I ordered but his panicking didn't stop as his hands started to shake at his sides.
His gaze transferred from me to the floor then back at me again as if I could make him disappear from the cell. "You," he pointed at me "I wouldn't be sitting in this damned jail cell if I hadn't let you talk me into using those illegal drugs!"
"You're not sitting..." I pointed out and his glare darkened.
"Auden, that's not the damn point. Do you know how mad my mother is going to be?!" He shouted, veins popping out of his forehead.
I blinked.
He hadn't yelled like that.
"Donny are you aware that you didn't stutter?" I asked skeptically, his eyes widened and he looked taken back. "And that you just cursed at me... Twice?" I asked again and if his eyes weren't bulging out of his sockets before, they were now.
He visibly paled. "I-I did?"
I nodded still partially stunned, my eyes refused to blink. He was gaining courage? Finally.
"I'm sorry Auden. It's just... My...my mother. She's not the... Nicest of people. She's actually quite cruel. S-she... She'd disown me in a heartbeat if she thought I went down the wrong path." He stuttered out sitting down beside me on the stiff white bench and resting his head in his hands.
I dropped the ball and took my feet off the wall, turning to face him, I looked at him. "Donovan, I already promised that I'd take the blame. Just tell your mom that I forced you. The worst thing that could happen would be your mother attacking me, nothing that hasn't happened before. In case you haven't noticed I can take a punch." I joked smiling slightly.
But the grimace on his face didn't leave. "Auden, y-you don't know my-"
"Enough Donny, I don't care what she'll think. I understand she's your mother..." I licked my lips and furrowed my eyebrows. "And I understand you don't want to disappoint her, hell I've already said blame me."
