I walked into the lunchroom alone as Sophie had this thing with one of her teachers and Adam didn’t come to school today, most likely sick from the small flu that was going around.
I went outside to eat lunch for a change, about to sit down when I saw Harry walking towards me and blew out a deep breath.
Turning in the other direction, I attempted walking away from him but he caught onto my arm.
“You’re still mad at me?” He asked and I turned around again, not replying.
“I’ll take that as a yes.” He continued, still leaving me in silence as I walked away.
He took my arm again.
“You know you’re going to have to eventually talk to me.”
More silence.
“You’re not even going to say one word? I’m going to keep talking until you say something. Does it help if I say sorry?”
“You’re not sorry.” I finally said and he laughed.
“There we go. That’s a start.” He began. “But you’re right, I’m not sorry.” He chuckled, walking me over to an empty picnic table.
“Why did you even pick me to do all this to?"
"Pick you?" He grinned. "I didn't pick you, Blair. I just really like you."
"Like me?" I scoffed.
"No, really like you." He said with a smile. I rolled my eyes.
"Okay, if I actually mean I'm sorry, will you forgive me?"
"No," I said and he laughed again.
"And why not?"
"Because you won't mean it."
"But what if I do mean it?"
"You're very persistent." I commented.
"So you're forgiving me?"
"I didn't say that."
"You should." He told me and I broke out in a grin.
"Look at that, an actual smile. I didn't know you had it in you." He said and I looked over at him, shaking my head.
"You're enjoying this, aren't you?"
"I'm loving it." He admitted. “Come on, I really am sorry. I shouldn’t have followed you. I just wanted you to be safe.”
“And what? You thought Trevor out of all people would’ve hurt me?” I laughed.
“He could’ve.”
"It's Trevor."
"He could have his whole... Look. And an innocent reputation as a cover up." He suggested and I cocked my eyebrow. "Think about it. He could actually kidnap all these girls and take them to his house and kill them. He could be pretty damn good at covering it up too. Just look at him." He spoke, nudging his head forwards to Trevor across the schoolyard.
He was sitting on the grass looking at his phone with a schoolbook beside him.
"See? He's probably planning on who will be his next victim." He said and I laughed.
"You're insane."
"So I guess I'm forgiven?"
"What on earth makes you think from that sentence, I've forgiven you?" I questioned with a smile.
"You've laughed. More than once."
"That doesn't mean I forgive you."
"Are you sure?" He said, a goofy smile spreading across his face.
