"Look out!" A JV freshman plyer screamed.

I knew today wasn't going to be a good day when I took a soccerball to the face. I was sprawled out on my back, black stars swirling in my vision. Coach jogged over to me.

"Summers you alright?" He asked offering an outstretched hand.

"I'm fine," I smirked, flashing my toothy grin. I was 18, a senior. Captain of the varsity soccer team. I was on top of the world. My head was throbbing though.

"Well take a water break anyway. You need it." He barked.

"Summers!" The school police officer roared.

"Principals office! NOW!" I looked at coach who was shaking his head. I raised an eyebrow and he pointed towards the main building.

Already in the office were two people I wasn't thrilled to see. One, was tall with tan skin, dark eyes, and choppy raven black hair. He was a junior, and he had some muscle. He was maybe two inches shy of my 6'. He always was. The person who used to be my best friend. James Deer.

The other was about as unimpressed to see me as I was him. He was at least a half a foot shorter than me last time I remembered, but that was almost two years ago. He had gained at least 3, 4 inches to his height, but he was still thin. I didn't let that fool me though. His years of weight lifting, track, and cross country in high school, plus three years of football before that left him really strong. His icy blue eyes glared, his white blonde spiky hair was glistening with sweat. Sam Nicks.

I sat on the other side of James, as far from Sam as I could muster.

"Jesse." James nodded. The principal stepped out, and motioned us in. The three of us shuffled in to see another person there. I could feel the others tense up behind me. If there was one thing we got along on, it was we hated this guy.

Adam Hanson. He was a little taller than me, dark hair, hazel eyes, and built like a brick shit house. His eyes took another take as he pushed his blue framed glasses up his nose.

"The four of you are dismissed from the school day. We have reason to believe you're in danger and we can't help. Is there anywhere you could go?" He asked. I grimaced.

"I'm not staying with them." Sam growled.

"Yes you are Sam, and you don't have a choice. As I was saying. Anywhere?" He asked again. He looked frustrated.

"One place. Yea." I said. It was risky but as long as she wasn't there we'd be safe.

We walked quickly down the road, rounding the corner. We crossed through the parking lot, and I pulled at the shop door. Locked.

"Hunter it's me!" James called, wrapping his knuckles on the door. The door was unlocked and shoved open. I walked in, seeing my worst nightmare.
