Horrible sketches of the house above. It's just an idea of where things are. Not the actual thing. Cringy I know. My S pen isn't working well.
It's a good sized place with terrible decorations and some bags of chips scattered all over the floor. The man steps in. How rude of him to not tell me his name in the first place.
"Oops sorry Colleen, I'm Mr. Rivers, but you can call me Andrew if you'd like and this is your home now so please feel free to explore." There we go. I keep my poker face on for him and coldly answer. "Mr. Rivers it is." His smile vanishes and turns away from me to my mom who is looking around and probably counting all the things that are wrong with the house. The dinning room table has a leg shorter than the rest so that will probably be very annoying and all the chairs are different. What should we expect? There all men. If the house was neat I'd be guessing there's something not right about that.
Mr. Rivers' face went pale when he saw the mess. "I'm truly sorry Misty, this house was spotless until I stepped outside." My mother chuckles, "it's fine." He still looked pretty embarrassed, but nervous at the same time.
"Kids! Come out to say hello!" He calls out, but there's no sound of anyone coming out. Just awkward silence. "I'm truly sorry, I'll be back." He says marching off into the house. I stand next to my mother nearly almost leaning on her the whole time. "I thought you said they where good kids." I whisper loudly so my mom could here. "I know, I also know that having a step mother is not easy for them either. Give them some time." I nod slowly wishing to be back home in my lovely small room. Looking up my ceiling at the big crack. I miss the hideous green color of it too. A mix of green and brown, but covered up by my Black Veil Brides and Bring Me The Horizon posters which I can't wait to hang up in my new room to make myself feel at home.
Mr. Rivers comes out pulling two kids by their arms. They look about ages 14 and 12. The youngest one was eating a bag of chips. Making loud and rude sounds with the bag. "Angel!" Mr. Rivers yells irritated. A guy comes out dragging his feet. He had his headphones on and texting someone on his phone with out even glancing at us at all. He looks about a year older than me like 17. His volume is full blast, I know this because I could here the song all the way from here. It's a screamo song from Suicide Silence Don't Die. He was wearing a black Motionless In White shirt with a sweater over it. His father slapped the back of his head and pulled his headphones off. "What the hell dad!" He yells crossing his arms and looking up at me for the first time since I got here. He looks at me with a bored look like if he's seen better girls than me. Like if I'm nothing and is completely not interested in knowing me at all. I know all of this just by one look. It's a gift.
He's very tall with wavy black hair, almost pale white skin, dark staring brown eyes pointed nose and normal sized lips? I just can't get over how tall he is. I'm pretty short that's all. He's alright.
"Introduce yourselves young gentle men." Mr. Rivers says with gritted teeth.
"I'm Luke." The second to oldest says shaking my hand. I don't know if he was checking me out or just trying to get to know me better. To my luck in still wrapped around my blanket. "Mark" the youngest one said licking his fingers. Mark is the chubby one out of them all. Everyone's eyes turn to look at the oldest one who is just leaning on the wall biting his tongue. He sighs heavily, "Angel. Can I have that now?" He asks his dad with both hands out in front of him. Mr. Rivers hands him back the phone and headphones and turns his back away from Angel, who happily leaves into the house again. The kids glance at each other and walk back following their big brother. They both seemed to carry on like their brother which is expected because he's their example of a being.
Mr. Rivers leads my way to what will now be my room. There's a small hallway that leads to all the rooms. They're are four rooms total. Two rooms are next to each right in front and on the left is what I believe Angel's room. I could tell by the Do Not Enter sign hug up on the door. It's really pathetic to be realistic. On the very end to my left is another door to a bigger room. There's probably another bathroom in there too.
"This one will be your room." Mr. Rivers puts a hand on my shoulder and leads me to my room which is the one next the the other right in front of me. There's a twin sized bed on a corner next to a window. The closet is on my right. I walk inside dragging my stuff in without even thanking Mr. Rivers.
The floor is carpet, a brownish color and the walls are white, nothing ugly like a brownish greenish color. I open my luggage and fold my clothes neatly and put them in my closet. I do my bed by putting the blanket wrapped around me on the bed. My ears buzz to the presence of someone in my room. I turn my head to see Luke walk in,
"You never told us your name." He says leaning against the wall. "Colleen" I answer. He nods his head looking around the room that is now mine. "You know this used to be my room. Now I'm sharing room with Mark and he's annoying as hell."
"Well. I'm sorry to hear that, Luke I'm not happy about this either, but here I am." He stares at me for a long time,
"Are you emo?" I cringe at the last word. Every single person I meet asks me that same question. Gosh it's so annoying because if I say no they'll say you look like it and if I say yes you look more like a poser.
"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not." I tell him opening another bag with clothes. "My brother is."
"As in Angel?" I turn to look at him and sit on the bed. He not his head and his eyes fall on the bag of clothes, "cool! Is that a Green Day shirt?" He asks running to the shirt sticking out of the bag.
"Careful." I say kneeling down next to him. "Swag" he takes it out and digs in to see the rest of my shirt.
"Yeah your emo. Welcome to our cult." He smiles, his crooked teeth showing as his brown curls fall on his eyes. Mark walks into the room,
"Luke come on before you get the girl cooties." Luke winks at me and walks out of the room following his younger brother. I stand up and close the door right after they leave.
