As explained a few chapters ago, the "now" for them is 2010. With that being said, happy reading, and thank you for 1.4k reads!

*PG-13 chapter below*

1991, Hogwarts

After getting sorted into Gryffindor, by which no one was surprised, Rosalind waited for everyone to exit the room except the old wizard with crescent glasses. Their eyes met for a bare second and it was as if he read her mind, he calmly waited where he was. Rosalind walked towards him, hesitantly, eyes fixed on the headmaster, trying her best not to look away. She hated feeling timid.

"Professor," she breathed. "I have something to tell you."

Now

-Draco Malfoy-

I was in the midway of unbuttoning my vest when Hermione rushed into the room, wiping her eyes with her tiny hands, only to have even more tears strolling down her cheek. She reached out for the vanity mirror and probably had a heart attack when she saw my reflection.

"D-Draco?"

I paced the room in two steps and pressed her face against my torso. I would prefer to be Crucioed to death by Voldemort than have her head throbbing on my shoulder.

"Shhh. It's okay..." I whispered as I caressed her hair.

She let go and her voice came out broke as she sniffled. "I-It's just that, I hoped they would stop. And you had a lot going on in the office, I didn't..." She trembled with frustrating sighs, can't getting the words together.

"Tell me 'Mione. What's going on?"

"I've been getting hateful anonymous letters." She reached out for the vanity's drawer, picking up a pile of envelopes. They read: Gold-digging slut. I'll burn your house down. I know who you are, mudblood. Hypocritical whore. Go kill yourself.

"If I ever find who writes this..." I grunted. It was as if flames could come out of my eyes and my whole body burned with rage. In the contrary, Hermione soothed my anger with an affectionate back rubbing. As I turned slowly back to normal on the outside but mentally swore for vengeance, her face drained of color and her eyes regarded nowhere but the ceiling.

"Draco, I think I need a break."

I was mortified. "What does that mean?"

"Since we got married, everyone's got an eye on us, that Elizabeth woman snaps an article on our tiniest mistakes and now the hate messages. It's just too much pressure for me to handle," she said gravely. I would have given all to not have heard this but I wasn't going to let it show.

"So, what do we do?"

"I want to take a vacation," she stated. I was relieved it was nothing permanent. However, that didn't last long. She continued, "In which I'll think a bit about the state of affairs. I want a serene childhood for our kids."

I scratched my head. "Speaking of the children, they would send a letter every Thursday. I hope all is well."

"They are most likely busy with homework." I gave her a funny look for her to rethink what she said. We both knew Stella pretty well. "On second thought, they are probably just having fun."

"Right. Let me leave you alone for the preparations."

"No need, I'll use magic on this one." And her baggage was ready with a flicker of her wand. Was she really that eager to leave?

"Don't you ever doubt that I love you." She planted a kiss on my lips, then pulled back when my hands wanted more of her. "I hate farewells. Luckily, the odds are against it."
