4. UB-01 Symbiont, The Rage Within

Narrator POV

"I understand. Mr. Looker. Miss Luma. It looks like we have a job to do. My task will be to protect the populated areas," Anabel told everyone present.

"Luma... you will go to where the sighting was reported. Mr. Looker, you are to stay here and coordinate our backup, if we should need it," she ordered, the two nodding toward one another.

"Keep in mind that backup is a vital part of any operation, Mr. Looker. We are trusting you with our safety, is that clear?"

"Yes, ma'am," Looker agreed.

"So... when do we head out?" Luma asked.

"Right away, Miss Luma. Let's be going on ahead."

"And the sightings? Where was Nihilego spotted?"

"Wela Volcano Park. That's where it was spotted. Now... Stay safe, Luma!"

With that, Anabel and Luma ran off in a heartbeat.

"Good luck out there, Chief! Take care of yourself out there, Young Luma!" Looker wished goodbye toward them.

"Charizard Glide! To Wela Volcano Park!"

Charizard had flew by and took Luma onto its back, and the two had flown toward the volcano in a short amount of time, allowing Luma to jump at the entrance of the park.

Luma's POV

I look toward the entrance. I was barely able to walk inside, even knowing of the consequences. Just remembering the swarm of Nihilego surrounding me back in Ultra Space... attacking me... nearly killing me...

"Cmon, legs. Don't fail me now," Luma whispered as she ran in to the park, a sinister feeling lingering in the air. My legs felt like a pair of Snorlax tied onto my feet. Every step I took, I felt as though my whole body was getting heavier and heavier. Before I knew it, I started trembling. Trembling from a fear I haven't felt since my nightmares.

I hate to admit it... but I was scared of Nihilego. I was scared that it would control my body... I was scared that it would kill me... just the mental image of it in my head pierced my soul. Its tentacles piercing my soft flesh like a hot needle through a plastic water bottle. Sitting in a pile of my own blood while it tries once more to gain control of me.

There would be no one to save me... not Gladion's brutality. Not Lillie's determination. Hau's Enthusiasm. Ms. Anabel or Mr. Looker's guidance.

No one...

I was scared, until I saw a small light coming from my bracelet.

"What's this? My bracelet its... glowing again..."

It glowed like this when I was in Ultra Space. Could it be because of the presence of the Ultra Beasts?

I quickly extended my arm to different directions and saw that it was glowing more toward the peak. I followed it to see that it was going down the volcano and toward the right side of the volcano. There, it was glowing like crazy.

"This is so weird... it's like a tracking device!" I shouted in confusion and looked on ahead, seeing the Ultra Beast hovering above me.

I quickly kept my distance and felt my hand quake in fear as the Nihilego was ready to attack.
