Present time
Narrator's POV
As Gladion had just arrived at the climax of the battle between Luma and Hau, the two were battling ruthlessly without noticing the President's presence. To catch things up, Hau had nearly swept most of Luma's team if it were not her Silvally who was able to catch against Hau and his team. Because she was able to switch Silvally's type, she was able to nearly sweep most of Hau's team, leaving him with his final Pokemon; Incineroar. Gladion was nearly awestruck with how the two were battling with a heavy resolve. The way their strength and feelings were reaching toward one another as if the two were having a mere conversation with one another albeit telepathically. It was something that Gladion wished to have with Luma, but it seemed as though he was merely Friend A between the three of them if Luma was the heroine and Hau was the heroine's trusted partner. However, it was more like they were fated rivals. Yet there was something different about this battle to Gladion, yet there was a familiar atmosphere about it. It was an atmosphere similar to the battle he had with Luma back at Mount Lanakila.
"Io! Change type quicky!"
Io didn't quite approach its' trainer, more or less Luma had quickly tossed the disk toward the chimeric Pokemon. However, Hau was quick to catch on and have Incineroar knock the disk's trajectory away from Io and initiate a counterattack, causing the water type memory to roll across the floor, stopping right at the stairs.
"Sorry! Too bad I was able to catch on pretty quickly seeing the way you and Gladion used those disks to switch Silvally's type," Hau smirked as Incineroar had initiated another attack against the now Fighting-Type Silvally, who was still up and running after barely dodging the oncoming Flare Blitz that seemed to be coming its' way. But there was something that Luma did remember; Incineroar was weak against Fighting Types despite its' appearance. However, a Fighting Type attack, albeit it would be super effective against it, it wouldn't do nearly enough damage against it. But if it was able to do enough damage to a specific spot against Incineroar, 'but how would I be able to do that,' she kept to herself as both Silvally and Incineroar seemed as though they were at each other's throats, but looked toward the disc in front of her and figured if she had an opening, that she would also Io to attack point-blank. But she needed to act fast. Luckily though, it seemed as though she could piece together a plan for her and her Pokemon.
"Io! Keep holding your own with everything at your disposal! I'm counting on you to cover me!" shouting as she ran for the Water Memory at the end of the stairs. Yet Hau seemed to have caught on to what she may be doing and tried to stop her. unbeknownst to him that he was reeling himself into her trap. Incineroar hot on her trail with Silvally following close behind aware of what its' trainer had planned. It was rash even for Hau to plot such a thing, but he was desperate to try his hand. As Luma had reached for the disc with her hand extended toward the item, Incineroar was hot on her trail as he reached for the girl at Hau's demand. Hau's mind was telling him that the battle was almost over, Luma looked up in front of her toward the Heel Pokemon with some shock in her eyes, but seemed to be expecting it as her eyes blinked, replacing that uncertainty with a sense of determination mixed in as she tilted her gaze to her right shoulder.
