???'s POV

Alola... the island Paradise from far far away, with a unique cluster of island Pokémon yet to be seen from people outside of its beauteous islands. Within the island of Melemele however, lived their first ever regional Champion.

Luminaria Moon...

"GAH! IM GONNA BE LATE!!"

Well... just Luma for short.

It's been a couple of months since I've become champion, and my days have consisted of going around exploring the islands and catching Pokémon for the Alolan pokedex. That, and battling different trainers after battling the Elite Four. But as you can see.

"Charizard Glide! Take me to Mount Lanakila! Pronto!!"

I overslept. Today out of all days.... it was the day I was suppose to have a ton of people come in today to challenge me, so I had to quickly defeat the Elite Four and beat each person who challenges me to a battle.

How it works is that you have to finish your other island challenges with the Trial captains and battle the Kahunas in order to battle the Alolan Pokémon League. However, there are some loopholes. If you have some sort of title of your own, then you can go and battle the champion whether or not you're doing the island challenges.

However, if you're a visitor from another region, you're only really given one chance per visit to beat the champion and that's about it. But thats unless you have a title or have residency in Alola.

In short, there are a lot of rules. Including that if you are indeed a resident of Alola, you can, again, only challenge the champion once every three days so that everyone could have a chance against the champion. If you already challenged the champion and lost, you can't challenge the Elite Four, defeat them again, and challenge the champion.

You are however, given at least three tries to defeat the Elite Four, until you reach the champion, no matter if you have all  three chances at defeating the champion, you're immediately reduced to one.

Honestly, this is all really confusing to me. I don't know if I even get the gist of it all. But Kukui or the other members of the Elite Four clear things up with me.

"Hey, Luma! Woo! You're late, Champ!" Kukui yelled as I immediately hopped off Charizard and ran straight to the building.

"I know, I know! I overslept! I'm sorry! I'll head over immediately! Do you know if anyone showed up yet??" I yelled, running in place before entering through the door. He answered my question with his usual fit of confidence.

"Haha! Don't worry, cousin! There's only really one person that showed up. Looks like he showed up for the sole purpose to fight the champion! Oh yeah!"
