Jane woke up in her room. She was groggy from her deep nights sleep, and the way her mattress had been molded to her body and temperature tried to tempt her into staying in it all day.

Despite its valiant efforts she swung her legs out of bed and rubbed her eyes at the daylight streaming in through gaps in her curtains.

Her room was big. Not as big as the Queen and Kings' quarters, but still very large.

Her queen-size bed took up a lot of the bedroom. It had long flowing see-through curtains on all sides, like a princess bed. Her bedding was cream silk with daisies delicately sewn into the soft fabric. Opposite her bed was a great window looking out onto the sea. She loved sitting on the window seat there and reading while watching the waves, she felt like she could fly.

She also had a private bathing room and living room attached to her quarters. The living room was one of the rooms she designed herself here in the castle. It had red sofas with cream throws and a sparkling chandelier hanging overhead. She also had a white fireplace put in so she could curl up on cold nights with her drawing paper.  It was her own special place which she was grateful for every day.

However, every morning she woke with the same thought in her head. What was my life like before this?

Shes tried to remember so badly. A face, a name, any memory she could but nothing came, it's like someone blanked her memory up until Queen Lily found her in a house, a house she didn't recognize.

It scared her for a long time, but now curiosity is all that is left. A deep want to find out who she was, who her parents were before the invasion. Every day it ate away at her.

She never told any of the royals this, of course, not even Alex. She would hate for them to think her ungrateful as she loved them so very dearly. She just wanted so badly to know her past...

Once she was ready for breakfast she wandered the precious oak stairs to the kitchen where Ms. O'Neil was busy cooking away.

Yawning her way into the kitchen, Jane pulled up a stool and sat by the counter.
"Good morning Ms. Jane, how are we this fine morning?" Ms. O'Neil asks her even though her back is still to Jane busy fiddling with the stove.
"A bit hungry," Jane says with a giggle.

"Breakfast will be ready in 10 minutes, go on up to the morning hall, and I will have young Samantha serve you, My Lady." Her Scottish accent accentuated the "r's" in all her words as they rolled off her tongue.

"Thank you!" Jane says and flashes her a loving smile which made O'Neil's love for her grow, she was like her own child she thought, as Jane bounced off the seat and up the stairs.

"Good morning Lily," Jane says walking into the morning hall. They only ate here for breakfast. It was one of Janes favorite places to sit. The morning sun was positioned perfectly in the sky for rays of golden sunlight to come in through the morning halls windows, illuminating the room with sparkles.

"Good morning Jane, how did you sleep?"  The Queen asks not having looked up from a letter she was reading.

"Oh, just wonderful thank you!" At this Lily turned up her head to look at Jane and smiled.

In this morning light in particular you could mistake Jane for an angel. Her golden hair glowed, causing a halo-like light around her head. Her cheeks pink slightly from just waking, were chiseled into a perfect jawline. Her eyes were extra light emerald in the morning, and wide and alert as her dark eyelashes fluttered softly as she blinked. It was no wonder her son was in love with her. Anyone could fall in love with those enchanting eyes.

"Actually you are just the lady I wanted to see." Lily began as the young server, Samantha entered the room with trays of food. "As you know, Alex is turning eighteen a week from today. Therefore, a birthday ball is in order, and I was going to ask for your artistic advice on some plans I am going to draw up for the layout of the ball?"
