The early summer air was warm as Alex and Jane rode across the beach. The thumps of their horse's hooves were heavy as they rode slammed into the sand.

Alex was in front of Jane this time, he had thundered out the Castle at such speed that Jane had worried for his safety. As soon as they were out of castle grounds she let Alex gain a bit of distance between her and her horse. She had seen the water in his eyes as they had mounted and knew he needed a little space before he was calm enough to talk to her.

Jane was hurt by the words the King had called her. Peasant girl. It rang in her head even now. She wasn't someone who got angry often, but those words made her blood boil. She kicked her horse on as Alex drew nearer to their spot.

He was glad she had stayed behind him while they rode across the beach. As soon as they had exited the stone castle, his anger had turned to tears, and he didn't want to cry in front of her.

He slowed down his horse as he drew near the rocks, and stopped him just before jumping off and wrapping its reins around the closest rock. Without saying a word he clambered over the rocks to the beach cove. Jane soon copied and followed on after him.

Neither of them said anything until they had both sat down on the soft sand looking out onto the smooth sea.

"I am sorry about my Father Jane. I am sure he didn't mean it, he was just using you against me." Alex said almost in a whisper.

"Hey," Jane replied soothingly. "Don't worry about it, I can take some name calling every once in a while, I am strong skinned me." She said looking at him softly. "So what are you going to do Alex?"

At this, he took a big breath. "I guess when I turn 18 I will do as he says. Sooner or later that ogre will pass and the throne will come to me. Therefore when that time does come, I need to be ready Jane. I want to try and be the best King I can." He explained sadly, his eyes looking down to the sand, making his dirty blonde hair flop over gracefully.

"You will be a great King Alex, I just know it." She said it with such assurance in her voice that he almost believed it.

"How can you be so sure?" He asks finally looking into her shimmering eyes.

"Because unlike King James, you understand people. He rules with power in his voice. Yet you will rule with understanding. Which means more to the people than anything else. I believe in you Alex, more than I have anything else before." His eyes were glistening with love as she spoke so kindly. "I believe in you more than the sky is blue, or the clouds white." At this, they both let out a heartily laugh.

"Thank you, Jane, you have no idea how much that means to me." His smile was pure, and it was returned by one even more magical than his.
"Come on." He says grabbing her hand again, "Let us go for a swim."

She smiled at his lightening mood and removed her dress, revealing her swimming attire underneath, he did the same.

They both proceeded to wade into the cool refreshing water which welcomed them happily.

Jane conjured up and idea on how to brighten Alex's mood and a mischievous smile appears on her face. They are both standing mid-thigh high when Alex turns to look at her and sees the look she has.

"No, don't do it J-" Alex begins, but is too late, Jane splashes Alex head to waist with the cold water leaving him drenched. "Oh no, you did not just do that!" He yells smiling.

Jans screams in reply as he jumps after her. Too slow in getting away, he manages to grab her wrist and pick her up in his arms in one foul swoop which leaves her breathless.

"I swear to god Alex if you throw me I will kill-" she doesn't manage to finish her sentence either as Alex throws her from his powerful arms with a great splash into the cold seawater.

Jane resurfaces moments after, her golden hair, normally free and airy, sprayed plastered across her face in wet waves. "Oh Alex, what a bad move that was." She said. Laughing, Jane jumps at Alex but he catches her waist before she could get at him properly, and her arms automatically wrap around his neck.

They were so close Jane thought.

Her hips were alive with feelings she never thought could appear as his big hands grasped them.

There was a fire going up and down his spine from where her fingers caressed the back of his neck.

"Jane..." he moaned into her ear, "You are so beautiful." He said running his hands down her waist and onto her thighs, grabbing at them. At this she clung to him tighter, wanting him as close to her as possible. She pressed her hands against his warm chest, no longer feeling the cold water. His chest was tanned and muscley, they held such power that Jane only wanted more.

They were waist deep in the water now, and her swimming things clung to her body as nothing else could. Her perfect curves alone drove Alex insane.

She wrapped her legs around his waist as he picked her up further. She buried her head into the bed of his neck and moaned softly as he placed light kisses on her shoulder up to her neck. The fire in her stomach was almost more than she could bear. A great heat was left where ever his cool lips softly met her skin.

Her skin was salty from the sea, and he sucked tenderly on it, feeling complete in her arms.

She wanted more. She wanted his lips on hers. Jane opened her eyes to move her head back and kiss him, but her plans changed when she saw a man's head appear around the rocks.

He was too far away to make out his accurate features, but she knew she had never seen him before. Fear coursed through her as he watched them.

"Alex." She said pulling away gradually. Although, he took it as a moan and continued his trail of kisses up her neck, in between which he says, " I know Jane, I never thought this would happen either."

She didn't want to break the bond, but her fear of the man and of their safety was getting worse and she had to warn Alex quickly. "No Alex, stop." She said harsher than she meant it too, but it was all out of worry.

At her words, he immediately drew back and placed her back on the sea floor. His face was flushed with embarrassment as he spoke, "I'm sorry, I thought this was what you wanted." He started to make his way back to the beach repeating again, "I'm sorry, it won't happen again."

"No Alex," Jane began as she reached for his hand, to tell him about the man, but when she looked back over to the rocks the unfamiliar man was gone, leaving her speechless.

"Let's just forget about it, Jane." His words stung her, and immediately she only wanted him near again, for their bodies to connect as they did, but he shook off her hand on his wrist and walked back to the beach, leaving her hand out for him in despair.

Jane felt the tears in her throat, but she didn't want to cry, all she wanted was to explain, but by the time she could form the words, she saw Alex jump on his white horse and kick him angrily back across the beach.

Leaving her standing, drenched and alone.
