Jane dressed quickly, leaving her hair down in magical waves of gold over her shoulders. She slipped on a red dress, (the colour red is the symbol of nobility), and matched it with a cream corset, and headed out her bedroom door. As she was closing the door a squeaky voice from behind her called out Janes name.

"Minnie said we had plans for an early lunch, I was about to get dressed when I-"
Jane spun around to face young Charlotte.

She standing just a few feet away, still in her pearly white dressing gown.

Even though her body was still sleepy, and looking all hunched, Charlotte's eyes held a spark of interest, her eyebrows raised questioningly as she spoke.

"-Well, I- um, I was actually just going to go for a walk before we do that."

Jane couldn't tell Charlotte where she was going, or who she was meeting. She didn't trust Charlotte not to tell someone like Minnie, who would prevent her from going. She wouldn't even tell Alex if he were here. He would want to come, and this is something she had to do by herself. Jane had to know what this man wanted, and why it involved her.

Charlotte narrowed her eyes suspiciously at Jane.

"I just need some fresh air, is all. Shall I tell Minnie when I'm back so we can have lunch?"  Jane shouted over her shoulder as she turned and headed down the hall to the staircase.

As Jane exited the castle doors, she paused in the sheltered archway and looked out onto the courtyard. It was raining heavily, so her decision to walk to the Tavern faded away.  She also knew she couldn't call for a carriage without someone finding out she hadn't gone on a walk.

Jane sighed loudly as her mind searched for an idea.

It's like everything is working against me today. Jane thought frustratingly, just as she heard a deep voice from in front of her.

"Lady Jane?"

Jane looked at the young boy standing in front of her, his cloak held over his head to protect him from the rain.

"Are you Lady Jane?" His face was scruffy with dirt as he spoke.

"That is me." She answered.

The boy smiled a big toothy grin. "I have a carriage for you here. " He explained. Even though he was immature looking, he spoke and held himself with a large sense of maturity.

"Whats your name?" Jane asked. They were both speaking rather loud in order to hear each other over the crashing of the rainfall surrounding them.

"Archie, My Lady."

Jane nodded and smiled. "Well, Archie, do you know who ordered this carriage for me?"

"Mr Redire." The boy stated.

Janes smile dropped and she looked hard at the boy, considering her options.

How did he know I would meet him?  However, there is no way I can walk there in this rain, and taking another carriage is out of the option...

I need to know. Is all Jane had to think before her decision was made. She stepped out into the rain and headed towards the carriage.

"Thank you," Jane said to Archie, as he helped her up onto the carriage steps. Although she knew the carriage wasn't one of the castles, it had a sense of royalty which seemed to connect with something inside of her.

The carriage jolted to a move and began bumping down the road.

There's no going back now. Jane thought to herself, uncomfortably, yet sat back with a deep breath.

It wasn't long before the carriage started to slow. Jane looked outside and noticed the rain had stopped. The sky was clearing to a natural beautiful blue colour.

A small tavern was approaching in the distance. It was the only thing she could see for miles around. Its brown hatched roof and white walls stood out against the green hillside.

Janes' stomach was churning, but with nerves or interest, she didn't know.

She stopped looking out of the window as the carriage pulled to a halt outside the door to a tavern.

"Deep breaths Jane. Find out what you need to and get out of here." She whispered to herself. Jane took a deep breath, wiped her horribly clammy hands on her red dress, as the door of the carriage was opened.

Her eyes immediately locked with ones she recognised, holding a handout for Jane to take.

"My Lady, I'm glad you came." Mr Redire said. His emerald eyes gleaming in the sunlight.
