Piles of Lies

Chuuya's eyes fluttered open to darkness and throbbing arms. He sat up slowly and realized his curtains were pulled closed causing it to be dark, a hint of light peeking through the two pieces of fabric covering the window. He moved his arms up so he could see what was paining them only too see they were wrapped in bandages. Memories of the night before flooded his mind, he put his forehead in his hands. 'I'm such a fool' he thought 'I hurt myself because a boy and now I look like that damn son of a bitch' he punched the wall to his right side causing pain in his fist now. Pulling his fist from the wall he noticed blood on his knuckles. He trudged out of bed to go wash his hand, when he exited his room he noticed Kouyou down the stairs where she always was sat in the morning, though he ignored her and went to the bathroom to wash his hand. He watched as the crimson liquid ran down the drain for a second time in the last 24 hours, he began thinking about the letter Dazai left him at the bar. 'Why did Kouyou only ask about the honorifics? If I really mean nothing to him of course he would use honorifics... Right?' He began pondering what would lead the brunette to abandon and betray him like this. He turned off the sink and wrapped his hand as well, trudging back into his room where he flopped onto his bed. Suddenly his phone vibrated signaling he had received a text message.

Aku: hey Atsushi and I are going out you wanna come?

He looked at the text and thought about the offer for a good 5 minutes before responding.

Me: is it okay if its just you and me? I really need to talk.

The ginger hesitantly pressed send and placed his phone face down on his bed. He didn't really want to go out but if it meant he could talk to someone who might understand he would willingly go. His phone began to vibrate signaling that Akutagawa had responded.

Aku: sure I will just tell Atsushi we will go out another day

Chuuya thanked the gods for Aku being so understanding and quickly responded.

Me: thanks, I owe you big time for this!

He sat up realizing he couldn't go out in this, he trotted towards his closet and picked out what he wore everyday. As he walked past the mirror about to leave his room he noticed the bandages were visible. 'Today might be the day I actually wear my coat' he thought trying to figure out a way to cover them. He opened a drawer to grab a pair of gloves to cover his hands, he hadn't worn them in a while so it was a bit odd. He also decided to fully put on his coat before leaving the room so Kouyou wouldn't see and worry. He placed his hand on the door and breathed slowly before turning the handle to leave his room. He darted down the stairs and grabbed his hat fast enough to get past Kouyou without questions, he actually got past successfully surprisingly. The ginger stepped out into the mid day breeze, he had woken up quite late but he didn't really care. He stood for a second taking in the outside world, the brightness of the sky, the slight breeze flowing past even the smell of the sea. The ginger sighed in content realizing how deprived of the lovely Yokohama scenery he really had been. Beginning to walk he assumed Aku meant to meet at the bar, he walked past the park from the other day. Remembering the boy he had a short yet strong conversation with. He sighed knowing he probably won't see him again and turned towards the alley that the bar was hidden away in. The bell chimed as he walked in the familiar smell of the old hole in the wall bar flooded his senses. It smelled like home to him sadly, this was the place he wanted to be at the moment. He spotted Aku sitting in a far corner of the bar like he normally did, Aku doesn't get out a lot but when he does he stays very secluded avoiding most people so it surprised Chuuya that he agreed to meet with him. Chuuya glided towards the booth and sat down across from Aku not saying a word. The ginger looked up and Aku instantly noticed the sadness lingering in Chuuya's ocean eyes. Aku wasn't one to help people or care about others but when it came to Chuuya he was like a brother or a mentor. Aku reached for Chuuya's hands and pulled of his gloves quickly so Chuuya couldn't reject, the ginger flinched but realized it was too late to do anything. Chuuya sighed in defeat and took of his jacket revealing the bandages that went all the way up his arms. Aku sighed, he knew what that meant.
"Who caused it?" The gray eyed boy asked solemnly. Those were the first words exchanged between the two and it sent chills down Chuuya's spine. Aku was very close to him but this tone was very unusual almost one a killer would use. It was cold like he wasn't talking about a persons life, Chuuya was almost to scared to say it was Dazai due to the fact he still cared for him and didn't want harm to come to him, thought he would never admit to that.
"D-d-Dazai" Chuuya weakly stuttered out. He shook in fear as a look of anger crossed Aku's face.
"D-don't hurt him though, please" Chuuya placed his hand on Aku's sholder to get him to calm down. He already knew how he was going to deal with the situation but didn't know when too.
"As long as you have it under control" Aku sighed calming down after reading Chuuya's face. Suddenly Chuuya's worst nightmare came true, the bell of the door pierced the still air in the bar. A familiar brunette walked through the door and Chuuya looked up in utter shock.
"Oh chibi you're here!" Dazai chimed happily.
