I woke up suddenly to voices and a lot of racket coming from upstairs. It must be morning.
"'Morning," Amy smiled.
"What's going on? How did you get in?" I stuttered adjusting my eyes to the light.
"I used my spare because you didn't answer, we were worried," she replied.
"Who's we?"
"Jamie and Lewis, they're here to build the furniture."
"Oh. Give me a minute," I groaned struggling to sit up on the couch.
"Why did you sleep down here? It's not good for either of you."
"I couldn't sleep so I came down here but I must have drifted off again. I thought they were doing the furniture tomorrow?"
"Jamie changed the plans this morning," she shrugged.
"Morning gorgeous," Jamie said leaning over the back of the couch and kissing my cheek.
"Hey," I smiled.
"Rough night?"
"Yeah, terrible."
"Do you want to get checked out?" he asked.
"No, it's probably normal. Are you going out tomorrow then?" I asked calling him back as he walked away.
"I'm meeting someone yeah, I didn't think you would mind if I changed days."
"No I don't," I smiled.
"Nice top by the way," he smirked dashing up the stairs with a hammer in his hand.
I looked down and giggled, his black hugs not drugs top is a little short for me now.
"I need to get changed."
"I'll make the tea," Amy nodded.
I followed the boys upstairs and shut myself in the bathroom to have a quick shower, I hope I don't feel as rough as I look. Sneaking into the bedroom wrapped up in a towel I shut the door to get dressed, rummaging in my drawers for matching underwear.
"Tiff, are you dressed?" Jamie asked knocking on the bedroom door.
"Give me a minute," I replied slipping on a vest top.
"Woah, sorry," he stuttered bursting the door open to find me standing in my lacy knickers.
"I said give me a minute but it's fine, come in," I giggled.
He stood gormless trying not to look below my waist.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing's wrong."
"I thought you wanted something."
"Oh, yeah," he gulped. "Food? It's getting close to lunchtime."
"I can rustle something up."
"Do you want to go out?"
"Oh okay then," I nodded.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. Let me get changed and I'll arrange something."
"Cool," he mumbled backing out of my bedroom.
That was weird!
I quickly blow dried my hair into its natural curls and applied the smallest amount of make up before changing into something more appropriate. Heading back into the nursery I found the boys busy at work.
"So what's the plan?" I asked.
"Gilgamesh at six," Lewis smiled.
"I thought we was going out for lunch."
"No, Jamie was supposed to ask you if you wanted to go out tonight."
"Oh okay, well I'll fry you some bacon and sausages for lunch."
"Thanks babe," Lewis smiled.
"I'll give you a hand," Amy offered.
Passing Jamie on the stairs as we made our way into the kitchen I let Amy butter the roles whilst I started frying.
"What made you think we were going out for lunch?" Amy asked.
"That's what Jamie said, in a round about way. I was standing in my knickers though."
"I did wonder why he came out of your room like he's just seen Beyonce on a pole."
"Hey," I laughed. "It wasn't like that."
"He obviously saw something he liked, he couldn't even ask you a simple question."
"Who's idea was it to go out anyway?" I asked.
"Jamie's."
"Did he say much about last night?"
"No, just that it was a good night," she replied.
"Didn't say who's bed he woke up in then?"
"I doubt he will remember her name."
"That's true," I mumbled.
"What's true?" Lewis asked appearing behind us.
"We was just talking about Jamie," I replied.
Amy widened her eyes and cut her throat, it's usually her way of saying I've put my food in it.
"What about me?" Jamie asked.
"Nothing much, I just wondered how your night was," I smiled.
"She means who did you bed?" Lewis chuckled.
"Brunette, petite, can't remember her name," he shrugged.
He says that without a care in the world when it makes me feel sick at the pit of my stomach.
