Ram’s POV
Di pa kami nalalayo ay nararamdaman ko na ang pagiging uneasy ni Labs. He kept fiddling with his fingers at he’s obviously in a deep thought. Di ko naman maiwasang mainis dahil alam kong may kinalaman na naman si Ken kaya nagkakaganyan siya.
Dahil hindi ko na kinaya, I stopped the car then looked at him, who’s still drowned by his thoughts. Hindi niya manlang naramdamang itinigil ko na ang kotse at nakatingin pa rin siya sa harap.
“Labs.” I tried to get his attention, but to no avail.
“Labs. Hey.” I tried again pero wala pa rin, and it’s not helping na mukha nang iiyak ang mukha niya ngayon. What’s running in his mind that he can’t even escape from it?
Before I even utter my third attempt of getting his attention, he looked like he’s snapped out of his thoughts, at narealize niya rin na hindi na umaandar ang kotse kaya’t tinignan niya ako nang nagtatanong?
“Why did you stop? What’s wrong?” He said perplexed.
“Ako dapat ang nagtatanong sa’yo niyan Cleo. What’s wrong with you?!” I said, suddenly raising my tone. It was too late to take it back because he already cringed in fear, then somehow gaining his composure again, looking me in the eyes.
“Ng-ngayon pa lang gusto ko nang humingi ng tawad, Labs. I know I should’ve said this before, right before I told you my yes, but I was also caught up in the situation. I-I lied to you. K-Kendall is my ex-boyfriend.” Ang pag-amin niya, saka tumulo ang luha at yumuko. I was pained by the way he brushed off his tears habang nakayuko pa rin, pero hindi ko magawang daluhan siya, yakapin at sabihing okay lang dahil kahit alam ko na noong isang araw pa, it still hurt so much, but definitely less than the scene there at my house.
I took a deep breath, and then caressed his cheek, brushing off the tears coming from his chinky eyes, slightly moving his head upward so we were looking at each other straight in the eyes. He seemed shocked dahil hindi nangyare ang inaasahan niyang outburst ko, which wouldn’t happen, hindi ko siya kayang saktan, ayokong maging yung dating ako, yung dating ako na ayoko nang balikan pa.
