"Hey!" I heard him run up to me.
"What's up Bolton," I replied with a simple nod in his direction. Silence filled the conversation as he scratched the back of his head while I looked down.
"Sorry about the phone thing," he turned to face me now walking sideways with his hands engulfed with the warm of his pockets.
"Yeah," I said back still looking down. Jesus Christ what's happening to me. "I'll be sure to enjoy my detention today, especially now that you're there." I looked up for the first time and nudged my shoulder against his.
He looked at me and blushed as I made an abrupt turn to the left almost cutting off his walkway. Silence filled the air once again as we faces the bulletin board that had the musical audition sign up sheets hanging by a pin. "You finally following your siblings' footsteps and signing up?"
"No, definitely not." I turned to meet his gaze looking right back at the board. "Just waiting to see when my sister would sign up. It's shocking to see that her name hasn't filled the whole sheet yet."
Just then and there walked out the Sharpay Evans from the other side of the board as if she was there the whole time. "Speak of the devil." I trailed on as we both brought our attention to her.
"Oh sister I'm no devil." She spoke running her hand lightly across the board pulling out her pink sharpie her back now facing us. She signed her name in big letters taking up the entire space leaving no room for anyone else to sign. She turned back to look at us, "Oh, Felix, were you going to sign up too? You know me and Ryan are happy to welcome newcomers. There are a lot of supporting roles for the show. I'm sure we could find something for you."
"No thanks baby sis I'm fine here, drawing and stuff. I'll leave the musicals and singing stuff to you." I smiled at her and waved my fingers walking off, I then turned to smile at Troy seeing him smile back and his cheeks flush a bit.
"So, Troy..." I heard Sharpay start a conversation with him as I turned to my next class.

This answer is yes!" Taylor Mckessie ran up to me holding a paper in her hand.
"Huh?" I asked giving my full attention to her.
"Out scholastic decathlon team has its first competition next week and there's certainly a spot for you." She said back to me.
"I'm sorry, I'm going to have you to go back a while. Where did that paper come from?" I asked her.
"Didn't you put this in my locker?" She answered my question with one of her own. I shook my head, her replying right after. "Oh. Well, we'd love to have you on our team. We meet almost everyday after school." I was about to protest, but she cut me off asking me "Please?"
"Well-" I spoke again to only be cut off again. "Well sister, I think that this math club is great for you since you're not in a club." Sharpay walked over from painting the ladder to me.
"So many new faces in detention, I hope you make a habit out of it," Ms. Darbus taunted to us three as she hovered over me. "But the Drama Club can always use an extra hand." She walked away into the center of the stage. "And while we're working, let us probe at the mountain evils of cell phones." Ms. Darbus trailed on as I continued painting.
"Perhaps the most heinous example of cell-phone abuse is ringing in the theater. What temerity! The theater is a temple of art!" Ms. Darbus exclaimed as me and he new girl Gabriella continued to paint the moon prop. Troy at the top of the tree and his friend Chad sleeping in the trunk with his head sticking out of the hole of the tree. Troy holding a leaf from above as he tickles his face with the tip.
"Where's my team Darbus?" The basketball coach cut off Ms. Darbus' speech about the terror of phones in the theater as he walked into auditorium. "What the heck are those to doing in the tree?!" He exclaimed walking down the middle of the chairs.
"It's called crime and punishment, Bolton. Besides proximity to the arts is cleansing for the soul." Ms. Darbus retorted.
"Can we have a talk please." Coach Bolton spoke sternly at Ms. Darbus. "And you two, in the gym, now!" He pointed towards Troy and Chad. Right then Troy jumped out of the top of the tree pulling a sleepily Chad with a basketball wrapped securely in Chad's arms.

"We never made it past the first round." Taylor rolled her schoolbag on the school grounds as me and Gabriella walked with her as she talked about the scholastic decathlon. "You two could be our answered prayer."
"That sounds cool and all but I still don't understand why you chose me." I asked.
"Trust me I asked myself the same thing, but you draw right? Clothes?" She questioned me as I later nodded my head. "Well you know drawing clothes includes mathematics and your scores tell me that you're perfect of the decathlon." I smiled at her realizing that Taylor isn't actually all that annoying, she's actually quite nice. "Well come on guys, we need you." Taylor pleaded.
"Sure, why not?" I said as Taylor squealed at jumped. We both turned to look at Gabriella as she hesitantly gave in and agreed to join.
