We all have something that drives us. Something that we all hold on to, and that’s what makes us get through each and every day that passes. As human beings, we always need a certain force, created within us or passed on to us from those around us, that will always make us who we are. It will be a lie if one says they are not driven by something since every man has something to hold on to. Finding what drives you is not an easy thing, but knowing what exactly drives you is just as important as succeeding in life. There are a couple of terms that one can use to describe these, and one must dig deeper within himself just to know exactly as to what drives him.

Some people are driven by courage, which I can simply define as being capable, the ability to do something dangerous or to face pain or opposition without showing any fear. I understand that this is technically impossible in situations where one has to face whatever is coming without turning their backs, where some form of fear is presented when the individual in question is still questioning the nature of the events to follow, yet we can still call it courage. As long as one is capable of facing a certain situation without turning back, no matter what the circumstances are, we can still call that individual courageous, irrespective of the fear or doubts they might present towards the situation presented to them.

Strength cannot be defined only physically bus psychologically too. Being able to withstand some external force does not make an individual strong, but also mastering the abilities of taking in the tortures of the mind. There is nothing more complicated as suffering mentally, which can lead easily to even more complicated situations. Being able to survive what the mind goes through is sometimes better than knowing what to do when your physical body is to go through some kind of pain. Strength is not only limited to the quality of being physically strong, but also includes, but not limited to, the ability to resist certain internal or external force in such a way that one is brave and determined in a difficult situation, but depending on the power and influence of whatever it is that drives the individual in question.

At some low points in our lives, we try not to do anything but sit back, pretend that we are relaxing and watch the rest of the stuff that is happening, ignoring the fact however that as human beings and as organisms in general, we are to fight for our survival at our outmost capability, no matter what the cost. I understand that it is part of our personal growth to present some sort of weakness within us, but being weak in most of the situations is not an acceptable act. Weakness does nothing but pulls us and beats us down until we get used to all of it, until we get to decide that there is nothing more to life than just giving up whenever we get to find ourselves in certain situations. In every situation that we find ourselves in, we need to find the strength within our weakness, and try to understand that no matter what the cost, each and every situation that we get to find ourselves in is worth battling, because all our lives, we are fighting for nothing but survival, and that’s what we should keep on doing. One can lack strength, power or determination whenever they find themselves in certain situations which can, however, have certain effects on someone’s character and finding it difficult in being resistant when faced with a certain challenge. What one needs to understand is that during our weakest points in life, we can prove to be as much stronger as we can, depending whether we choose to be or not.

In every harmful situation that we get to face, pain always pull us through at any cost. One may choose to debate with me on this, but most of the people that went through some form of pain at some point in their lifetime tend to be more stronger than most of those that had it easy and handed to them in life. Pain makes us who we are from the inside. It defines who we really are at the end of the day, and someone driven by pain is always determined at succeeding in life, for they do not wish to go through the same situations over again. Pain can be a good thing to some extent, but to some, the scar that it leaves is evident. Some tend to make sure that someone else goes through what they went through just for their own satisfaction and to test if their samples can make it through and face all the difficulties, and others make sure that, at whatever cost, they get back to whatever and whoever made them walk in hell on earth, which, however, are not great acts at all. Physical, mental or emotional suffering are real life situations, and one cannot, under any circumstances, try to escape that reality, but must learn how to deal with it all, and understand how much possible it is to use all of it in aiming of becoming better individuals.
