Callie peered through the damp window curiously, watching the local humans busily rush around from place to place. She loved to people-watch: each mortal had their own life, their own jobs, families, maybe even kids! The violet hues of her irises - natural, vampire red melding with a blue pair of contact lenses - followed their movements easily, enhanced hearing picking up on the tail ends of their conversations as she passed by. It was so interesting to think that each little human had their own intricate story to weave.

The brunettes gaze flickered around the bus; most of the other humans were either sleeping, or keeping themselves busy with their phones or a magazine. The excited squeals of a toddler grasped her attention, as a little girl pointed out the window at dogs and other animals that she deemed adorable. She couldn't exactly place a finger on who, but the tot reminded her of someone. A small, sad smile tugged as Callie's lips, as she swivelled back round in her seat, rubbing her left temple in thought.

Many vampires would struggle with being in such an enclosed space with so many humans, but Callie was thankful for her years of experience. Finally her stop came into view; the vampire stood towards the front of the bus, saying a quick 'thanks'  to the driver, before stepping off.

Demetri felt the pang of his gift kick into play, pin-pointing the exact location of his target, releasing his hold on Aro's hand.

"Bring the woman to us, I wish to speak with her," Aro stated simply, sitting back on his throne, hands clasping over his lap. Demetri bowed his head respectively; with that, he was dispatched under the Masters' orders to find the one the Cullens called 'Calista.'

The pitch black cloak he adorned allowed the tracker to meld seamlessly into the gloom, hood up over his head casting a shadow over his features. His eyes squinted slightly as he worked to narrow down her location further; Felix snorted," If you concentrate any harder, you'll burst a blood vessel."

Demetri rolled his eyes jovially," Hilarious, Felix – I have to keep tabs on our target, in case she decides to move again – it makes it easier to catch someone when you know where to be at the right time."

The taller vampire huffed, as they turned a corner, heightened senses on alert for the slightest of sounds. Why she'd chosen to hide out in the woods, in the middle of nowhere, was peculiar. Especially in Scotland, of all places.

"So, she trekked all the way from the States, to here – not the wisest decision considering she's closer to Italy," Felix commented, red irises searching the treeline. That much was hard to understand – why come all this way, to hide out from whoever is after you, only to stray closer to enemy lines?

"Perhaps she's been here before?" Demetri proposed. He halted, as a strange scent wafted into his nose as the wind changed; the strong hint of lavender and chamomile flooded his senses. He looked to Felix, who seemingly was unaffected, peering at his friend in concern.

"I heard you were looking for me."

The two Guard members span on their heels. The looked towards where the voice sounded, only to find no-one there. A small chuckle escaped the speaker, amused by his bewilderment; the voice had a slight echo, as if in a spacious room," Two Volturi Guard, huh? I guess I must just be a really interesting person."

"Show yourself," Felix gruffly retorted, straightening his posture," I wish to see the person I'm talking to."

"Hm, no, doesn't work like that, Dear," Felix clenched his jaw at the condescending tone of their words," I show myself, and I get carted off to Volterra – so, hard pass on that one."

"I think it's safe to assume that you're Calista?"

"The one and only, Love."

Demetri found himself sucking in an unnecessary breath as his red irises focused on the source of the voice. The woman stepped out from the gloom, head cocking slightly as she observed the pair; Felix quirked a brow – she wasn't tiny, but she wasn't tall either. Physically, she was unimposing – but from the defensive stance she naturally fell in to, it would be foolish to let his guard down...

The trickle of sunlight through the canopy gave an ethereal aura to her form, her black Doc Marten boots crunching leaves underfoot: "Are you going to tell me why you're following me around, or are you just going to gawk like a stuffed owl?" Callie enquired, right eyebrow quirking upwards at the male vampire's behaviour.

Demetri shook his head lightly, clearing his throat.

"Aro wishes to speak with you personally," Demetri explained," We've been sent to find you – if you'll come with us."

"So, you're basically the delivery service, huh?" Callie teased, pointing between the two. Demetri's eyes narrowed briefly at the accusation; Felix appeared unaffected by the taunt," Well, as handsome as you both are, I'm going to have to decline – see, I've got bigger fish to fry, and trekking out to Italy isn't exactly convenient."

Demetri rolled his eyes as Callie strode across the clearing to stand toe to toe with him. The tracker felt his chest tighten as her scent invaded his senses; Chanel perfume mixed with something that was uniquely her. Her blue contacts had already started to disintegrate from her vampiric venom, creating a strange swirl of red, blue and purple hues around her pupils.

She cocked her head, brown locks bouncing with the movement; a small smirk tugged at her lips," You're a tracker, aren't you?" Her eyes darted to Felix's hulking form," And you're an enforcer? Well, with a build like that, you've got the right equipment."

"And how do you know that?" Felix cut in, hands flexing and unflexing into fists; Callie noticed his tensing posture, like a coiled spring.

"You have your gifts, and I have mine – why do you think your big boss wants to meet me so bad?" She purred with a smile, that didn't quite meet her eyes, as she tapped her temple with her index finger.

Demetri gave a small nod in understanding," You're a telepath?"

She wrinkled her nose, taking a step backwards with a slight shrug," In a sense, yes – don't compare me to Edward, Felix, I can assure you that we are nothing alike."

Felix grunted, not liking how his thoughts were being so easily invaded," Enough – you're coming with us, we're not here to act as your messengers."

Her gaze grew cold, stony almost, as she shifted slightly on her feet. Felix matched her intense stare with one of his own; for a second, Demetri could have sworn he'd seen a similar stand-off in the Coliseum, between Gladiator and Lion...

"You listen to me – you may be Aro's bitch, but I'm not, and I don't take orders from anyone – so I suggest, if you know what's good for you – both of you - then you'll about-turn and head home."

"C'mon, Darling, let's not get nasty," Demetri tried to diffuse the situation, hands raised slightly in surrender. He nodded slightly to Felix, who – begrudgingly – let out a harsh breath through his nose, relaxing his form. His face still stood like thunder, eyes trained on their target.

"I won't go with you both, it's pointless trying to persuade me – leave," She snapped, brows knitted together. Upon meeting Demetri's gaze she found it hard to not soften as she took in his features; he was a very attractive man, and in any other situation, she would've probably fancied him.

She turned her back to the pair, beginning to march up the hill, when an iron-like grip on her upper arm practically dragged her backwards; she hissed angrily, feet planting firmly against the hardened ground, entire body spinning to face her attacker. Felix grunted as her hand snapped up, grasping his throat tightly; red eyes met red eyes, as she growled: "Let me go!"

They paused. Felix fell silent, muscles relaxing; he released the brunette, almost robotically, turning to face his coven mate. Demetri's expression scrunched in concern; his friend's expression was blank – scarily so. Felix slowly walked back to where he stood previously, only regaining life upon completing the action; staring at the other two dumbfounded.

"What the hell was that?!" Demetri sounded.

Calista gritted her teeth," I didn't want to have to do this..."

In a flash, she pressed her palms to their temples; the last thing Demetri could recall was watching her lips move, before becoming entranced in those beautiful wine-hued eyes. Then...darkness.
