Demetri smirked," Found you, Darling."

Callie's jaw clenched, gaze dancing from his face to the members of his entourage: there was a very tall, very muscular guy who looked ready and able to pop off the head of Godzilla. She was sure she recognised him from somewhere...but from where exactly was unclear. Two pre-teens stood side-by-side; their shorter statures were dwarfed by the man-mountain beside them which would've been comical and would've earned a laugh had they not been the renowned Witch Twins: Jane and Alec.

The brunette quirked an eyebrow," Just can't get enough of me, huh? Well sorry, Darling, I'm afraid we'll have to rain check this meeting - I have a crazed ginger who thinks I'm after her man after me, so if you'll excuse me..."

Demetri took a quick but cautious step forward, catching her wrist in his hand as she turned to walk away. Callie span in his grip, jerking it out of his grip in a fluid move that even Felix was impressed by," Wait! Before you run off, I need to talk to you."

"I gathered that...I'm listening."

"Aro has requested to speak with you personally," Demetri stated, fishing in his cloak pocket, drawing out her amber pendant," About your coven."

Callie's eyes widened considerably as her hand felt her neck, noticing the absence of the necklace," How did you get that?"

"You left it behind the last time I saw you," As she reached to snatch it from his hand, he swiftly tucked it away again; she frowned," I really need you to come with me - with us."

"You need me to? Why the urgency?"

"You either choose to come with us or we take  you there," Jane interrupted, becoming irritated with the frivolous argument," My Masters have sent us out to bring you to Volterra, and that is what we will do, regardless of whether or not it is what you want to do."

Callie narrowed her eyes, taking a big step back from the group. Demetri briefly send a disapproving glance to Jane, her poor word choice only serving to escalate the situation further," So much for democracy."

"Calista -" Demetri reached for her arm, only for his hand to phase through the limb entirely.

"I'm tired of this," Jane snapped, focusing her gift on the brunette. An intense burning sensation rippled across her skin, akin to the pain she felt during her transformation, sending Callie slouching to her knees; a curdled scream escaped her lips. Her blurry gaze fell onto Demetri, who immediately crouched to embrace his howling mate.

"Jane, that's enough," Felix interjected gruffly, gaze trained on the tiny blonde who still didn't stop her unrelenting mental assault," Jane - stop!"

Callie snarled through gritted teeth, the flaming red of her irises draining to an intense black. She barely felt Demetri's embrace - whether that was an attempt to comfort her or prevent her escape, she didn't know. Perhaps he was trying to quell his own worries.

It all happened so suddenly that the group weren't quite certain as to how it happened. Alec took a small step forward to place his hand on his sister's shoulder, but as soon as his feet shifted, Callie's body sprang into action. There would be no chance of winning a physical fight with the big guy there, so there was no other option but to get the hell out of there.

Jane felt the burning intensity of her powers fall upon a vacant target, flowing nowhere but the damp ground at their feet. The trio stood in the clearing alone, staring at the space where both the Tracker and Calista previously occupied; now vacant, save for shoe-prints in the soil.

"They're...gone," Felix uttered, flabbergasted. This was the first time he'd been exposed to such gifts; mental abilities were relatively common within the Volturi ranks, that much he was used to...but vanishing vampires were something different entirely, and it spooked him.

Jane, thoroughly miffed after being upstaged by The Teleporter, held a stoic face that blanketed pure fury. No-one had ever beaten her in the centuries she'd been alive, this was not meant to happen. She turned to her brother, taking note of his perplexed expression while it remained etched on his features. Perhaps taking the brash and aggressive route hadn't been the best plan after all...

"We must tell the Masters..." Jane spoke monotonously, inwardly appalled at the concept of returning home empty handed," With Demetri gone, we can't catch her."

With that she turned on her heels sharply, sauntering away with her head held high. Alec and Felix shared a brief knowing glance; she was pissed off, and someone was going to pay - whether it be a passing human or a member of the guard who so happened to cross her path, her wrath would reign.

To be continued...
