The young male rebel dropped to his knees and stared the Imperial officer dead in the eye, his own eyes pleading." Please spare me. I-I surrender." He stutters, knowing that surrendering to the Empire was a dishonour. The Imperial raised his blaster at him and said in a cold voice, " you Rebels all the same... all narrow minded, you have only caused your own demise." The Imperial was inches away from pulling the trigger, when something inside him snapped. " No, this isn't right. But.. I can't disobey my commander's order." The grip on his blaster tightened. The Rebel's hand started to shake. " Please, show some mercy. I am merely a father, a father that never even got the chance to meet his family. I was sent on this mission praying that it would bring me one step closer to peace." The Rebel shook his head sadly. " But now I'm a murder, I have so much blood on my hands. Blood of innocent Imperial's just trying to protect their families. I wonder how many families I have torn apart. Here I thought that the Rebellion was the definition of peace, but truly both the Rebellion and Empire has flaws." The Rebel swallows, " perhaps I deserve to die, for all the horrible things I've done." He nods firmly and closes his eyes, awaiting death to glasp its cold hand around him. " The Rebellion isn't what it seems." The Imperial stares at the Rebel, as he slowly lowers his blaster. " I will not kill you, for you are different from all the other Rebel's I have faced in the past. Maybe one day we could work together, to really restore peace. For both the Rebellion and Empire aren't what they seem to be. They both have their secrets that nobody knows about." The Imperial puts his blaster back on to his belt, and takes a pair of cuffs out. " You will be treated fairly I'll see to that." He quickly restrains the Rebel, and gently pushes the Rebel ahead. " Why are you so kind to me?" The Rebel asked, while looking down at the ground. " You may think that all Imperial's are corrupted, and that all Rebel's are honourable, but that is not the case." The Imperial stated plainly. The Rebel only nods, as they both come to a halt. " Commander." The Imperial salutes. The Commander looked from the Imperial to the Rebel. The Commander spoke, his voice booming. " Were my orders not clear? I said no prisoners." The Commander stared at the Imperial coldly. "It's hard to believe that you would disobey my orders." The Imperial coward under the glare giving from the Commander. The Imperial spoke confidently. " This Rebel is different, he deserves to be put on trial." The Commander raised his E-11 blaster rifle at the Rebel; " how dare you disobey me, your Commander! I will deal with this Rebel scum once and for all, and then I'll deal with you!" His voice dripped with anger. He pulled the trigger, but acting out of instincts the Imperial jumped in front of the Rebel, getting hit in the chest. Saving the Rebel's life and buying the Rebel enough time to get out of there safely. The Rebel bolted away and made it to his ship, another Rebel greeted him and they took off quickly, his thoughts stirring. "I will avenge you, my friend. I will restore peace for you, for the sake of the Galaxy. Your brave act, your death won't be for nothing!" The Rebel said determined, as they entered hyperspace and headed back to the base. The Imperial was on the ground coughing, the life was leaving him quickly, but there was a smile on his face, as if it was glued there. The Commander looked down at him " We could've done great things together, but you just had to throw all that away." He stares into the Imperial's lifeless eyes, watching him take his last breath, he inhales and heads back to his ship. " Inform Lord Vader there were no survivors." He says as he turns to a stormtrooper, hands behind his back. " But.. Sir..." the trooper was quickly cut off, " questioning my order?" The Commander asked annoyed. " O-f course not sir, right away sir." The trooper quickly scurries away. The Commander boarded his ship and takes off, deep in thought. " This Galaxy will soon belong to the Empire, it is only a matter of time." Was the last thing the Commander said before entering hyperspace.
