"Bitch you guessed it! You's right!" Abbie shakes her butt all over my room while her favourite rap song blares through the cheep radio I bought last week.
I shake my head, trying not to laugh. She looks so stupid that Shilo and I both grab our phones to record at the same moment after smirking at one another. We record for about 30 seconds before Abbie opens her eyes and lets out a shrill screech.
"Delete that shit right now!" She stomps over to Shilo.
I'm more of a sneaky prankster, so I stopped recording before she noticed.
Abbie quickly deletes the video from Shilo's phone. Shilo looks over to me and I wink, pointing to my phone laying on the edge of my bedside table.
We're nearing midterms right now and are supposed to be studying for next week. The key word is "supposed" to be. My two friends are fighting over the radio station. Abbie loves rap and Shilo loves pop. I hate both, to be honest, but I really don't want to interfere with my entertainment.
My phone makes the unmistakable sounds of vibrations against wood, signalling that I have a text message. Before I can grab it, Shilo snatches my device off the table and unlocks it swiftly. I don't even know how she knows my passcode.
"Dear Sage... Your beautiful eyes let me see into the future. A future where you are the mother to my children and we live in a white Pickett fence house with a wraparound porch. Your smile lights up my world more than any other!" She read dramatically, hugging the phone to her chest and picking her one leg up like the famous kissing fantasy.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know she's impersonating Oliver.
"He's absolutely terrible with words, he would never say anything like that you dolt." I stand up off my bed and grab the phone out of her hands as she batts her eyelashes at me.
"How did you know who I was talking about?" She challenges.
"You would never do this if it was Max from AP Biology who wants to be a doctor." I roll my eyes.
"So you were paying attention!" Abbie points to me.
I laugh, "You two are so loud people in China could hear you. So yea, I know what you said."I sit down again and open my messages.
"What did lover boy say?" Shilo asks, sneakily turning the radio back to pop music.
Oliver: Can I talk 2 u @ school 2morrow?
"He wants to know if he can talk to me tomorrow."
"Why would he want that?" Abbie scrunches her nose.
"Maybe because I kissed him after the football game."My house goes silent for a second, then two, before both girls hop to their feet and tackle me to my bed, screeching the whole time.
"Did you actually?!" Shilo smiles so bright her face almost cracks in half.
"Look at her face, she totally did." Abbie adds.
"Only on the cheek, but yes." I feel my chest heating up like it does whenever I'm around Oliver.
Abbie grabs my almost forgotten phone and throws it to me, "So say yes, dammit!"I chuckle again and tap my screen to reply.
Sage: Sure. What's up?
Oliver: I just wanna ask u something
Sage: How does meeting at lunch sound?
Oliver: Meet u near the lot @ my carI lock my phone and put it down on my beside table where it originally was before Shilo rudely grabbed it. I feel like both of my best friends lack a basic understanding of manners most of the time.
"I'm meeting him tomorrow at lunch near his car in the lot." I say to them, chuckling at their wide eyes waiting for the verdict.
"We're definitely hiding in the bushes to listen." Shilo mutters matter-of-factory to Abbie.
"Oh for sure."
