Some of the action/language is a little PG13 in this chapter, so consider this your warning.

"Sage, Sage!"

My head snaps up at the sound of my name being called in the middle of the library. Of course of all places to yell for me, Shilo picks this one.

"Be quiet, you dumbass, we're in a library." I scold her for her inappropriate behaviour before shooting an apologetic look to the two students sitting near me, "What are you so worked up about?"
She pulls a seat at the table out beside me and plops down, "I just got invited to a party at Sophia Samuels' house!"
"I'm confused. Don't you hate her?"
"Well, duh. But that girl knows how to party. I was told I can bring a friend, and I choose you!" She's almost shaking in excitement.
"What about Abbie?"
She flicks her hand nonchalantly smiles and winks at me, "She got invited by Max from AP Biology..."
"No way." I laugh and make my decision, "Fine, when is this apparently amazing party?"
"Tomorrow! I'll text you her address. This is going to be so much fun!"

She stands up and literally skips out of sight. I sigh and refocus my mind onto my homework.

Turns out I did reasonably well on my other exams. My average last semester was a 86%. It would have been higher but math brought me down. I have Writer's Craft, Literature, Geography, and a spare. In other words, I can definitely raise my average now with the lack of math and science material.

Lit is by far the most work right now. I have to read a chapter from a new book basically every couple days and write an entry in a journal about implicit and explicit meaning. For geography, I just re write my notes colour coordinated every night and complete the occasional fill-in-the-blank. And writers craft is the easiest. I love my teacher. He's a free spirit so all we do is write short stories and poetry in a journal any time I'm hit with inspiration.

I was doing Lit homework when Shilo just interrupted me. I suppose I could use a decent party, after all I haven't been to one in a couple months since the one with Abbie and Shilo. That was when Oliver and I still hated each other. We've come a long way.

"Hey babe."

I look up from my journal and smile. How is it every time I think of him, he pops out of nowhere?

"Hey Olly."
He takes the seat that Shilo previously occupied and kisses my cheek before leaning back, "What're you doing?"
"Homework. I'm on spare."
"I didn't know you had a spare this semester."
I smile, "There's a lot you don't know about me, dear."
He chuckles and rolls his eyes, "Wanna go out with me tomorrow?"
"I'm going to a party with Shilo and Abbie. But if you would be the ever kind gentleman and escort me, that would be appreciated." I fake my best British accent.
"I would love to. Want to catch dinner before?" He copies my accent.
"Deal. You know I can't say no to free food."
He smiles, nodding his head, "You're predictable. That's the leverage I used to get you to hang out with me the first time. Coffee and doughnuts."

I throw my head back and laugh, earning a stare from the librarian sitting just a few steps away.

I shut up quickly and can feel my cheeks heating up. Oliver's trying not to laugh at me getting that glare. I roll my eyes and pack my stuff away in my bag before grabbing Oliver's hand and dragging him out the library.

"Whoa, babe. If you wanted me in the janitors closet you just had to ask."

I ignore his dirty mind and keep walking, all the way out the door and over to his car. Half way there in the parking lot he pulls me to a stop, but I end up chest with him. He looks into my eyes and pauses for a minute, wrapping his strong arms around my waist to keep my locked to him.
