The Historian had definitely had better days than this.
"You killed Rirnod," the Ice Warrior rasped.
"Well technically he killed himself. I did try to warn him, but I suppose you don't see it that way."
"No I don't and for that you will die."
"Whoa, hold on. I quite like living so if you don't mind I'd rather not."
"You have no choice."
"I rather think I do. What's that?" the Historian asked looking behind the Ice Warrior. As the Ice Warrior turned to look the Historian quickly ran around him in the direction of the TARDIS.
In the daytime the Historian would have had no problem outrunning an Ice Warrior, but at night when it was cooler it would be a lot closer. She ran as fast as she could in the rocky landscape, but the Ice Warrior was slowly gaining on her. She spotted the TARDIS in the far distance and ran even faster hoping to get there before the Ice Warrior caught up. Even with her increased speed the Ice Warrior still gained on her and he was now almost in shooting range.
Suddenly a rock next to the Historian glowed red hot before it exploded sending shards of rock everywhere. One particularly nasty shard lodged itself in the running Historian's right leg. The Historian collapsed, her leg no longer able to bear her weight. She was just yards from the TARDIS but with her injured leg it might as well have been miles. She tried to stand but only managed one step before her leg collapsed again.
The Ice Warrior was no longer running but was instead walking steadily toward her. He soon reached her and looked down at her. "Now you die," he hissed.
