I want to thank all of you who have read up to this point! I hope you are enjoying my story! As always I would love to hear your feedback! Now let's get back to the story.
Location: Earth
Meanwhile the Historian was walking in the opposite direction. Every once in a while she would say something along the lines of, "Wow I can't believe I got this far with the sonic lance," loud enough for any listening ears. After a couple of minutes of this an Ice Warrior stepped out from behind some trees, where he had been hiding, in front of the Historian.
"I believe you have something that belongs to us," it rasped menacingly.
The Historian made a show of looking around for somebody else before making a who me gesture. "I think you're mistaken, you see I was just walking along enjoying the day," the Historian replied stalling for time.
"You can't fool me Time Lord," it rasped.
"Personally I prefer Time Lady, but I'll take it. I'd say that I fooled you pretty good, but that's just my opinion," she finished shrugging.
"I heard you say that you had the lance," the Ice Warrior said sounding puzzled.
"Yes, well do you see anywhere that I could hide a lance that big?" the Historian asked patiently.
"No, but you said you had it," the now completely confused Ice Warrior replied.
"Yes, well don't believe everything somebody says. That can get you into a lot of trouble you know."
"You tricked me!" the Ice Warrior screeched.
"Yes I suppose I did. Although you really ought to pay more attention to these things, then you wouldn't be tricked so easily."
"You will pay for this," the Ice Warrior rasped as he raised his gun.
"I rather think not," the Historian calmly replied. She raised her sonic screwdriver and as she turned it on a high pitched whine started to emit from it. "I have my sonic screwdriver in what is basically a reverse setting so if you choose to use your gun it will backfire and hit you instead."
"You lie," he rasped. The Ice Warrior raised his gun arm and fired. Instead of a sonic blast hitting the Historian the gun did indeed backfire, leaving a big smoking hole in the Ice Warrior's chest.
"I did try and warn you," the Historian said sadly as the Ice Warrior slowly toppled forward. She turned and headed back through the woods to the camp. The Historian was enjoying herself immensely on the walk back. She was whistling a jaunty little tune and enjoying the warm sunshine that was streaming through the trees. She reached the camp far to soon in her opinion.
As she entered the camp she looked around briefly to make sure that nobody had stayed behind. Satisfied that nobody was still there she turned toward the path that lead to her TARDIS. She started walking, enjoying the rays of the setting sun. She was so absorbed in her own thoughts that she didn't hear the heavy tread of footsteps behind her. Suddenly an Ice Warrior stepped out in front of her, silhouetted against the setting sun he cut a fearsome figure.
