I hope you enjoy this story. As always I'm open to helpful suggestions from more talented writers. I will try to update this story about once every two weeks.

All the characters in the story are mine except K-9 and the Ice warriors. And without further ado here is The Ice Warrior's Grave!

Location: Earth

As the sun rose over the majestic mountains the early morning silence was shattered by the sounds of a camp waking up below.

Calls of "Good morning" and the more pushy "Wake up" echoed around the camp.

Katy Aldred, photographer and main cook of the team, was the first to emerge from her maroon tent that sat in the middle of the camp. As the team's only cook, that is unless you wanted burnt food, it was her job to make sure that the team had to eat that wasn't burnt to a cinder. On the menu for breakfast today was a hearty meal of pancakes and sausage washed down with coffee. She walked over to the fire pit and revived the fire from the night before. Once she had a blazing fire going she went to retrieve the ingredients that she needed from the bags hanging in the trees. The team had put all their food into bags and hung them from the tree the night before to prevent animals from eating it. After she got all the stuff she needed she mixed the pancake batter together in a big bowl. She then got out a skillet and hung it on a tripod that was straddling the fire. She started to spoon the pancake batter onto the skillet where they could cook. Beside the pancakes she threw a couple of sausages on as well.

The rest of the team began to emerge from their tents, drawn by the smell of breakfast. The first to emerge was Andrew White, the team's leader, he had just graduated from collage two years before and this was his first big dig that he was in charge of. He also had the help of Bill Hartnell, one of his professors from collage. Then there were the four archeology students Nancy Knots, Matthew Marter, Benjamin James, Nathan Small. All four of them had signed up for the extra credit they would receive on their return. Then of course their was Katy Aldred who was the photographer and journalist of the team.

By the time the team had fully woken up and arrived at the fire the pancakes and sausages were all cooked. They all grabbed a plateful and a cup of coffee. Then they settled down on the logs that were placed around the fire.

"So what's a hap'ning today?" Benjamin asked around a mouthful of food.

"One thing that's not happening today is you talking with food in your mouth," Katy said jokingly.

"Yes ma'am," Benjamin replied with a smile.

"Now since that's settled onto the plan of the day," Andrew started. "Katy, Bill and I will be excavating the disturbed area of ground over by grid 1. The rest of you can split up into two teams and work on grids 2 and 3. Just remember to document and sift everything.

"Got it boss," the four students replied, with Nathan throwing a mock salute.

Once they had all finished eating they stood up and gathered their plates in one place for Nancy to wash as she was on dish duty for the day. That done they all drifted away to their tents to get all the equipment that was needed for the day's dig. Later once all the equipment had been gathered and everything put away from breakfast they all started toward their area. Nancy and Matthew headed toward grid 2. Benjamin and Nathan headed toward grid 3.
