The rebirth of SHIELD was just how Spyen had imagined it and it was all thanks to the new Director, Coulson. Coulson had recruited many ex-SHIELD agents as well as new agents into his trusted new team. With the Playground as their base of operations, Coulson was able to make a new foundation of SHIELD. The new Director has made this job of his a priority and Spyen couldn't have been more proud.
The months that came after Fury's supposed death were rough on the small team. Spyen and May had taught Skye everything they knew on how to become an agent as well as trained a few of the other agents. Coulson wanted a strong team and he had achieved that. As well as a strong team, Spyen and Skye had grown closer to each other. After the initial awkward phase of returning back into each other's lives, the two had essentially started where they left off. Spyen and Skye were insuperable by the time Skye was agent material. The two sisters had each other's backs and they were almost never seen apart. They were Gemini.
Coulson on the other hand had learned of Spyen's true role in SHILED. Not only was Spyen a level ten agent, but she was the only agent that Fury would send out on long-term undercover operations. Spyen was Nicholas Fury's secret weapon. The only other people from the old SHIELD that knew about her were Agent Maria Hill and the Avengers; now Director Coulson had her in his grasp.
It wasn't a question if Spyen was trustworthy. The moment that Coulson had a mission prepped, she was always the first to step forward and be apart of the ground team. After the few months of rebuilding, Spyen was side by side with incredible agents that knew of her old position amongst SHIELD.
Spyen was beside the new agents, Agent Hunter, Agent Hartley and Idaho. They were on a mission to obtain information in exchange for money. The man that was standing in front of Spyen pushed an open file towards the team of agents.
"That's what I'm selling."
The file contained a picture of an SSR 084. Spyen recognized the file as Fury had showed it to her. The man reached into his pocket, "I'm sure you'd like to see some credentials." The man held out an old SHIELD badge and Spyen took in his name before she spoke.
"Agent Browning, for ex-SHIELD you seem awfully indifferent to who we are."
Browning didn't skip a beat, "What you are is the highest bidder. Whether you're into it for profit or for HYDRA, doesn't concern me. Not anymore."
Spyen gave a small smile, "That's what we want to hear."
Idaho came out from the corner of the warehouse and set a briefcase full of cash in front of Browning. He looked at the cash in awe, but Agent Hunter leaned forward and closed the lid before Browning could touch the paper.
"The mystery I'd like to solve is why should we be paying you so much? This looks like a box. Sorry—A picture of a box." Hunter straightened his back, "A picture of a box that you don't have."
Browning hesitated, "The government has it. Along with thousands of assets they seized from SHIELD and they don't know what to make of half of them.
Spyen pulled her arms across her chest; she knew where the warehouse full of assets was.
Browning pulled in a breath before he pointed to the file, "I worked in a SHIELD containment facility that had hundreds of boxes that look just like this."
Browning pulled the file closed and Spyen took in the red stamp on the front of the manila folder, "But this is the only one that has a level ten classified file dedicated to it."
Hunter glanced at Spyen known that she was once level ten.
Spyen rolled her eyes at Browning, "You're selling us a needle in a haystack."
