I knew the day would have to come eventually, but I didn't realize how upset it would make me once it came. I just didn't want to believe it would be so!
Ashton had to go back to America. I know, sad face. I went to the Hikaru palace to help him pack up. Well that was my excuse, but I really just wanted to get in his pants again before he had to leave. His flight was set for the next morning at 11 a.m. We were in bed together until nine. We then joined Mr. Covington and Ashley for breakfast.
Speaking of Ashley, she got a new beau. I caught her making annoying kissing sounds through the phone the previous night before I went to 'help Ash pack.'
I laughed as I shut the door to her room.
She jumped up at the sound and turned to face me. "Claire! I didn't know you were there."
I nodded as I continued to laugh.
"What did you hear?" She asked she asked with nerves spread across her face.
"Oh, something along the lines of," I started to imitate the noises I hand just heard into a fake phone I made with my hand.
Ashley buries her head into her bed with embarrassment.
"I want to know everything!" She ran over to her bed. "Who is he?" I asked.
She lifted her head up. "I can't tell you. I don't want to tell you. I'm not sure it's anything yet." She blushed.
"You're such a liar." I smiled. "You were just making kissing sounds into your phone." I argued. "You don't just do that do a guy that has possibility. You do that with a guy who has already taken flight and has touched you in all the right places."
"We haven't done any of that!" She shouted. "Okay, fine. We have kissed a little, but it's not so much of a physical thing. We really like each other." She continued to blush. "He is like the male version of me, but way more masculine than you just imagined."
I giggled. "So I wouldn't be able to squeeze anything more out of you." I begged.
She shook her head.
"Fine." I headed for the door, but then turned around before I went through. "Not even his name."
Ashley picked up a pillow. "No!" She yelled and threw it in my direct.
"Okay." I was about to leave when she stopped me.
"Wait, why are you even here?" She asked with curiosity. "Ashton said you were coming tomorrow morning."
"I decided to give him a proper send off." I then licked my lips and raised my eyebrows.
Ashley grabbed another pillow. "Gross!" She shouted as she threw it.
I quickly shut the door to avoid it.
Ashton and I went finished up breakfast. He said his goodbyes to his family and we walked out to the car waiting for him. After handing his carry-on bag for the plane to the driver, he turned to face me. I stared into his blue eyes and thought about how lucky I was to have him. I wish I had realized how wonderful he was years ago. He sighed as he wrapped his arms around my waist. Mine wrapped around his neck and I kissed his cheek.
He put me at arms length. "Claire, I will have a week off for spring break. I can come back. Can you wait for me?" He asked with a smirk.
"Of course." My hand grazed his cheek. His was soft and freshly shaven. My other had moved into his hair. I pulled his head down for another kiss. It was soft and slow. I wished he could just stay.
To hell with college!
But this was something he needed to do. He had to finish what he started.
"I'm king to miss you." I said as his lips lightly grazed my neck.
"I know." He responded after moving his head up to look into my eyes. "I will call you every spare minute I have."
"And I will answer no matter the time."
I squeezed him in one last embrace. I watched as he entered the car and it drove away. I wanted to cry and I didn't really know why. It would only be two months until his spring break and then only one month of school was left after that. Then he could come back to me for good. But I was going to miss him for those three months. I would miss his warm touch. His amazing blue eyes, his soft hair, his smile, and his arms cradling me. I would miss the way he kissed my neck. But mostly, I would miss the way he made me feel. Safe, secure, and happy.

I decided to throw myself into matters with the kingdom. I had to make sure the person I trusted to run it until I could wasn't turning everything to shit. And he wasn't. He was doing a marvelous job. I still desperately wished that three more years could pass so I could actually take control of my kingdom. I would have to be patient and trust that John was handling things to my father's standards.
I also checked up with things in the company. Venessa was also fine.
I found myself laying around and staring at my phone just waiting for someone to call saying they needed me for something.
I still hadn't gotten anywhere in the whole magic thing until one day in late March, I got both things I wanted.
My phone finally rang. I picked it up and saw Lacey's name on the screen.
"Hello." I answers in an excited tone.
"Claire, could you come to office please?" She asked.
"Sure. What's going on?" I responded as I got up and walked out of my room.
"A woman showed up begging to talk to you." Lacey began to explain. "The guards dismissed her as crazy and alerted me when she showed up again. It wouldn't have stood out to me except she said something. She said, 'I know what Claire is going through and I can help her.' I figured she was talking about this magic thing. It's worth a shot." I continued down the halls towards the office. "The guards as made sure she's not dangerous or carrying any weapons. I say we just straight up ask her about the magi and if she doesn't know anything then we have the guards take her to the police station and have her taken care of." Lacey suggested.
It was something which we didn't have when it came to this magic stuff.
"It's worth a try." I said and then hung up the phone.
I put my phone in the back pocket of my jeans. I dramatically opened the double doors to the office by pulling them both apart. I entered and headed straight to the seat behind the desk. After sitting down, I observed the woman sitting nervously in the chair next to Lacey who was standing on guard.
The woman seemed to be older than me, but maybe only a year or two older than Lacey. She was Asian with a darker skin tone. Her black hair was cut so it barely grazed her shoulders. Her chocolate brown eyes seemed friendly. She sat up when she noticed I was staring.
"What is your name?" I asked while trying to act stern.
"I am Jasmine Thavin." She answered.
"Alright, Jasmine, tell me why you are here what do you need to talk to me about?" I glanced up at Lacey and she nodded. "Does this have something to do with the magic I've been experiencing?" I asked.
She looked confused for one second and then relieved. "Actually yes...you've accessed it already. Well that helps fill in some pieces in the puzzle." I wasn't sure how to respond to that, but then she continued. "You probably have questions, so allow me to tell you everything I know." She looked up at Lacey. "You might want to sit next to me here." She pointed to the chair to her left. "This may take a while." She then looked back at me. "If you could save all questions till the end, that would be great." She took in a deep breath. "We are witches. Not like fake crazy ones, but actual witches that do magic. You know, you've used some. And we're not like those gross witches with hook noses, worts, ugly cackles, broomsticks, and cauldrons. We don't make potions and shit. We simply use magic. We can essentially bend the laws of nature to do our will." She observed our shocked and confused expression. "Let me start in the beginning...or at least as far back as we know. Witches originated on this island. Yeah, that's something that's not in any history books. There was a small tribe of people living on this island before it was discovered. The people weren't necessary trapped in the island as much as they just choose to be isolated. They would, in fact, use their magic to keep intruders away. We don't know anything about how the people got to be here and who the first ever witch was, but we do know how magic spreads. It travels through woman. So when the explorers came here and brought a ship load of people, the magic within the small tribe spread across the entire island. You see the people had lived in Haruhi up in some of the high mountains. A few adventures went up there and discovered them. Then the magic began to spread as the people decided to blend in and move around the island. Basically it works like this. When a witch has a child with a human, their magic is doubled and goes half goes into the child along with half of their genes. You know, biology and stuff. Anyways, magic however is only dominant in woman. It is recessive in men. So if that witch and human have a girl, then she will have active powers. If they have a boy, then he will have dormant powers. Active powers will come to the surface when the girl is ready to accept them. It comes at a crucial time in her life. It is different for everyone. The men however will never be able to access their powers. They can, however, still get with a human and have a girl with active powers." She paused to take a breath. "Now oh are probably wondering who in your family tree is a witch since your father was a fourth generation. It was your mother. She was descended from witches. And she knew it too. She kept the secret. She probably told your father, but I'm not sure. She was probably planing to help you and your sister figure all this out when the time came, but...well, you know. Anyway, now you are probably thinking about how you can learn to use this magic. That's why I'm here. I'm going to help." She stopped. "Questions?"
