Questions?!
I didn't know where to begin. My head was spinning from all the information that had just been outed inside of me. I let the it all absorb and sit for a minute.
"No?" Jasmine asked.
"Be patient with me, please. You have kinda just dropped a large bomb on me here." I snapped.
She put up her hands in surrender. "Right, sorry." She slumped back into her chair.
"Okay, so why you? Who sent you to me? How did you know I was...a witch?" I asked.
Her smile faded slightly. "Um, I actually can't tell you that. You're just going to have to trust me."
Lacey stood up. "That's suspicious." She huffed with bitterness.
"I do. I trust you. I don't know why, but I do." I looked deep into Jasmine's happy eyes and felt confident that the words she had said before were true.
"What?!" Lacey hissed.
I smiled at Jasmine and then glared at Lacey. "May I speak to you in the hall."
Lacey rolled her eyes and turned to head out the door.
"One moment please, Jasmine." I exited the room.
"Lacey, I'm getting answers. Answers! This is what I've been searching for." I argued.
"But we don't know this woman! You brought up a good point. How did she know? Why did she come to you? I don't trust her." Lacey was just being over protective.
"Well, I don't care." I smirked. "If she turns out to be untrustworthy, then you can say 'I-told-you-so.'"
"I can't say that if you're dead..." She mumbled.
I frowned. "You'll see! I have a good feeling about this." I made a fake angry face and went back into the office.
Jasmine was sitting on the edge of her chair, her back was straight.
I sat back down and smiled. "So, where do we start?" I asked.
A huge grin came over Jasmine's face. "Oh, great! Okay, um, well...I guess with the basics. More history lessons and then just basic magic theory. Then I came start with the easiest thing, moving objects with your mind."
I sighed. "I'm so excited."
I was also just relieved. I had answers! Part of me still couldn't believe that I was a witch, but there was also a small part of me that couldn't believe that when I would wake up the next morning I wouldn't find my family waiting for me in the kitchen to eat breakfast. So much had happened recently, this was just another step towards happiness.

Jasmine returned home. She had an apartment in Udonia City, which is only ten minutes from my castle. I immediately called Ashton after she left the office. I explained to him as much as I could. He was understanding, at least a little more than Lacey was. He still told me to be careful.
The next morning, I got a text from Jasmine while I was eating breakfast.
It read: We'll start today. Do you want me to come to you or do you want to come to me?
I replied: It would look strange if I went to some random apartment. The media would be all over me.
That makes sense. You it is! Jasmine responded. Be there in 10.
I quickly finished eating and ran to my room to change out of my pajamas.
Jasmine arrived exactly ten minutes later.
"Hi." I said nervously.
"Hey." She smiled. "Let's start with history and magic theory. I will be teaching you everything I know."
"Okay." I smiled with nerves still in mind.
She gave me the lesson. It took about an hour to finish and in the end Jasmine quizzed me. I only missed one question and felt good about myself. Then Jasmine got up to leave.
"Wait, what about the other stuff? I want to learn some magic!" I smiled.
She stopped and looked at me. "Alright, but I wasn't sure you were ready for that."
"I can do this." I assured her now that my nerves had been swallowed.
"Okay." She walked over to the coffee table.
We were in the living room. Jasmine picked up the tissue box off the table. She brought it closer to me by placing it at the end of the table closer to the couch I was sitting on.
"So, just focus on the box. Picture what you want to have happen and it will move." I watched as Jasmine stared at the box.
It slowly slid across the table to the right away from me and then back in front of me.
I looked at her with shock. "That's so cool." I was very ecstatic.
"You try." She said. "Just focus on what you want to have happen."
I looked at the box. I invisibles it sliding across the table like it just had before nothing happened. I glanced up at Jasmine for help.
"Some people move their hands too, like using the force." She pointed at the box.
I looked back at the tissues and out stretched my hand.
Now, I'm getting frustrated. I thought as it refused to move.
I pulled my hand back and then forced it forward again with anger in my eyes. The box swiftly flew forward and off the table. I looked up at Jasmine and saw I disappointed look on her face.
"I know you weren't ready for that." She said as she picked up the box and put it back on the table. "You just used dark magic. It is magic that is channeled by anger. Sometimes, good witches need to use it in dire situations. If a witch just uses dark magic all the time, then it will consume them. The witch wouldn't be able to access their magic without getting angry. It has negative effects. It's not good." She sighed. "We will work on this more tomorrow." She walked towards the archway to leave the room.
I jumped and followed her. She turned to face me.
"Don't try anything without me." She warned and left the room.
I lead her out of the castle. "I won't." I assured her.
She didn't seem convinced. But I did! I resisted the urge. I thought of it like alcohol. It was something that I could get addicted to and it was bad, so I avoided it, unlike I did with alcohol before. I learned from my mistakes.

Jasmine returned the next day around the same time in the morning. I listened to her explain more things about magic and then I begged to do more.
"Alright, you can try again." She said.
This day we were in the office. She picked up a pen and placed in front of me. I was sitting in the comfortable black office chair.
"Roll the pen forward, but not off the desk. Focus on hat you want it to do and don't get too frustrated if you can't do it at first. This is something that will take practice. I promise though, once you get a handle on the littler things, then the bigger things will be easier." Jasmine moved around to the front of the desk and sat down in one of the two chairs. "Focus, concentrate." She smiled. "Whenever you're ready." She gestured to the pen.
I glared down at the ball point ink pen.
You are my Everest! I thought as I glared at my enemy.
I out stretched my hand and saw the pen move in my mind. I watched as it jiggled slightly and then rolled over once.
That's not good enough.
I retracted my hand slightly and then pushed it out once again. I concentrated so hard that a headache formed. The pen rolled across the desk towards Jasmine and I stopped it before it reached the edge.
I smiled at my accomplishment. "Yes!" I shouted with joy.
Jasmine smiled too. "Good. We can work more on this tomorrow." She stood up.
"Oh, come on. Let's keep going." I begged.
"Claire, trust me. It's best if you pace yourself." She headed for the door.
Remembering my headache, I knew she was right.
She turned to face me before leaving the room. "Don't practice without me." She warned once again.
As the door shut, I slouched back in the chair. I was satisfied with what I had done. I grabbed my phone and texted Ashton.
Things are going good with Jasmine. I'm learning a lot. Wish you were her so I could show you. xoxo
He replied a few moments later: That's great! Me too. Spring break is around the corner. I will book my flight home tonight.
I actually had been thinking about that...What if I come to you?
I was nervous for his reply and it didn't help that I took minutes for it to come. I took my chance while I waited to leave the office and go to find some Advil. After I popped a pill, my phone buzzed.
I wouldn't mind that, but my father might.
I already asked him. He said he didn't mind and Ashley didn't care either. So? I relied quickly.
I had thought about this a while ago and planned ahead. I was just waiting for Ash's 'okay' before I booked a flight.
So it sounds great. I miss you and can't wait to have you in my arms.
I jumped for joy and I ran to my laptop to email my pilot to the private jet my father had bought a while ago.
Me too! I will make the plans for a flight to JFK.
JFK? I'm a little ways away from there. Why not fly in closer?
I forgot to mention it! Oh yeah! I quickly texted back. I forgot to ask. Since you can't stay in the dorm over break I thought we could get a hotel in New York.
Oh! That makes more since. Yeah. Alright. I'll handle that and I'll pick you up. You just tell me when.
I smiled as I sent the email to my pilot.
I then texted Lacey and told her of my plan. I also told Jasmine, so she would know I would miss a week of class.
Everything was sent! I was thrilled I be going to Manhattan. I had never been to NYC, but I was more excited to be able to see Ashton.
