Knock out Hannah first, then trap her. I thrust my right hand to the side and conjured a golden sword. A shield appeared in my other hand. Hannah's back was facing me as she vented about the reasons she had for causing all this misery.
I took my moment to strike. I swiftly charged forward. She whipped around at the sound of my feet coming closer. Hannah's eye's widened and she ducked to the side and avoided my sword.
"Woah!" She shouted. "You caught me monologuing!" She exclaimed. "Alright, then, let's do this."
She thrust her hand to the side, the same as I had done, and conjured a large blood red sword. Hannah presses her attack. My shield gave me a slight advantage against her, but she was a much better sword wieldier than I was. She was able to knock my shield down and with my brief moment of shock she was able to disarm me completely. Defenseless I stood as Hannah kicked me to the floor. The hard marble floor was very cold to lay on as I waited for my doom to come. Hannah began to walk closer to me. I was able to sit myself up, but not strong enough to fight yet. The way I saw it was that I got a chance to rest, while Hannah had not. When she got close enough, I planned to get rid of her weapon, but she was too quick. She swung her foot and kicked me in the face. I flew backward and my head hit the red carpet. She came in closer for the kill, but this time I was ready. She swung her sword and I used my magic to push it out of her hand. There was no doubt I my mind that this was about to turn into a witch battle. I jumped up, spun, and kicked in the collar bone. She fell back but didn't fall to the ground. She recovered by throwing a ball of pure black magic at me. I could tell that she was getting darker inside. She was building up with rage and power. I fired my own magic ball at hers and the when exerted when the collided was so grand that it pushed Hannah and myself backwards. I fell on my butt and she was only a little phased by it, but still pushed back a little. We both kind of looked at each other for a moment, both experiencing the same thoughts. "What the hell was that?!" and "Damn we are powerful!" Yet, relentless Hannah shot another fire ball at me. This time, I was done fooling around. I moved to the side, so the ball missed me, then I fired back. The power coursing through my veins felt good, too good. I shot another, and another.
We kept going back and forth, shooting mean less balls of fire at each other. Finally, we both clapped our hands together and slowly pulled them apart. I large ball of fire slowly grew in between our hands. We both shot the balls simultaneously and they collided. There was no big explosion falling this though. The fire balls simply disintegrated on contact with each other. Hannah and I didn't quite understand why this happened. I took this moment to inch my way closer to her, now standing only 20 feet from my enemy.
"Be the person, the woman, and the warrior you are meant to be." I heard Freya's voice in my head.
I then took a final move. I used my magic to push Hannah back. She was able to keep herself up, then used her powers to try to push me back. We both stood there, trying to push each other down so we could take the final strike. I was able to push Hannah back. She let out a little screech as she fell backwards and skidded across the shiny floor. I ran over to her and held a purple ball of magic over her head, just as she did in my dreams.
"So now what... are you going to kill me?!" She asked me with confidence, knowing that I wouldn't.
"Hannah, you know I'm not going to do that..." I replied.
"Why not?! Too scared, too weak?!" She tempted me.
"Hannah, that is so tempting, but I have to pass." I lowered the ball of pure light magic closer to her face. "Now, you are going to do exactly as I say or your punishment will be way worse then what I have planned." I said to her.
At that moment, Lacey and Monica ran into the throne room followed by Jasmine and James. I quickly hid my magic ball from James and explained what happened to them. We saved Katrina and took Hannah into custody.
Hannah was taken into a holding cell in Udonia and they gave her one call to get a lawyer or something. I called up the best lawyer I knew to be the defender of Udonia City and the harmed people of Haruhi. The biggest thing on mind that night was not the trial, but my family. I got Hannah! Now it was time to let the lawyers do their work. I wanted to adopt Katrina as soon as possible and then go home to see my Ashton. I also needed a girl's night with Abi and Ashley.
It was all over the news. "The Princess returns victorious to us!!" My mind was still on the place that I called home. We all jumped into cars and were taken in my palace. We got to the grand gate and then drove up the drive way. We pulled up to the stairs and I got out of the car. There were a long row of stairs that were about 20 stairs tall. At the top there was a small platform and three sets of two double doors. The middle doors opened as I got out of the car. Ashton came running down the stair. Tears started to form in my eyes as he walked down the stairs toward me. I wanted to run into his arms and have me carry me away into the bedroom, but I needed a shower first. When he got to the bottom of the stairs, he embraced me with all the love he had. He then kissed my passionately on the lips for a good minute.
"I love you." I whispered in his ear.
"I love you, too. I missed you so much." He replied then kissed me on the lips and cheek.
That moment could have lasted forever for me, but it was interrupted by Lacey tapping me on the shoulder.
"You're creating a scene... go inside, please." She said while pushing us up the stairs.
Now inside the hallways of my home, we were discussing a few things about the trip. Lacey and I decided to leave the others behind to clean ourselves. We offered showers to the others using the guest rooms, but they refused our offer. So we left James, Jasmine, Jacklyn, Monica, Ashton, and Katrina in the large lounge room.
Ash was still unaware of Kat's story and my intensions for her. I wanted her to have a family, and as broken as mine was, I wanted her to be a part of it. I needed to talk to Ashton about her tale before I mentioned that I wished to adopt her.
I walked into the lounge room after my shower in comfortable clothes and noticed that Lacey wasn't there, yet. Which was odd. She was always one to take short showers. The only time she would take a long shower was, because she needed to think. I wondered what was on her mind, but that was a different problem. Now, I needed to talk to my boyfriend.
I walked over to Ash on the sofa. "Can we talk in the hallway?" I asked him by whispering in his ear.
He nodded and we walked out into the hall. Once out there, I tried to gather thoughts and how I was going to explain this. Before I could say anything, Ashton pinned me against the wall. He ran his hands up my body and kissed, hard. After we finished, he smiled. He then held me in a tight hug, for a while.
"Do you want to go back to bed?" He whispered in my ear.
I pushed him away and slapped him on the arm. "Hey, no!" He laughed. "Ashton!" I complained. "I called you out here to have a serious talk. Then you started doing things and... well, I just need to focus on what I need to say."
"Okay, I'm sorry." He said while coming back in for a hug. "What do you have to say?"
"It's about Katrina."
"That cute little girl?" He smiled.
"Yeah. She has a story. I didn't just grab a random girl out of the city or something."
"I assumed so. Tell me about her." He hugged me closer.
"Alright, well. She is from Marshallville, Haruhi. Do you know how it blew up?" I asked.
"Yeah. I saw it on the news and they said that no one was in the city." He answered.
"Well, that is not exactly true... there might have been a few of our soldiers and like 50 Haruhi soldiers still in the city as it went up in flames." I explained. "Anyway, I used my powers to find her and her wounded mother hidden still in the city while the others escaped. I was drawn to her because I could feel her magic pulling at me. Her father was a part of the Haruhi army, but betrayed them by attempting to deliver us information about Hannah's plans to bomb Marshallville. When he got what he needed he told no one but his wife. The army found out that he backstabbed them for us and he was executed. Hannah had soldier sent to kill anyone who know the information, which only included Piper, his wife, and Katrina, his six year old daughter. Soldiers arrived early in the morning, the day that the town was bombed, at their house to finish them off. Piper was able to use her magic to fend them off. She got shot in the gut and was able to gather some things for Kat as she hid in the basement with her little girl. When I found them, Piper told me what happened and gave me Kat's stuff. She died in my arms and I vowed to give Katrina a home." I exclaimed.
"Wow. I had no idea what happened to that sweet little girl." He frowned. "What do you mean 'give her a home'? I want to put her in the system and have her adopted by a nice family or do you want to...keep...her." He looked concerned.
"Yes..." I smiled.
"Yes to what?" He asked. "Yes to the first or second thing?" I smirked and he could read me like a book. "You want to adopt her?!" He shouted.
"Yes. I do." I simply stated.
He pulled away from me and took deep breathes. This news obviously hit him by surprise. He took a minute to think. I wanted to talk about this, to ease his mind. I reached over and placed my hand on his shoulder. I began to give him a back massage as he thought.
He pushed me off and started to pace around. "Okay, okay." He muttered. "So, what does this mean, you know, for me?!"
"Oh, nothing! Well, not if you want it to be anything. I will take her in under my name. I'll adopt her as a single parent. You don't have to be a father figure towards her, but that would be kind of difficult considering how involved we are."
"Yeah..." He paused for a moment then his eyes lit up. "I love you!" He ran over and kissed me.
I smiled. "So, what does this mean?"
"I love you, and one day I'm going to marry you! I want to be a parent for Katrina. But not yet." He hugged me close. "You go ahead and adopt her for yourself and then one day when we are wed, I will be her adopted father." He kissed me again.
"That means so much to me. Ash." I said, still a little numbed by his lips.
He pulled away and headed back into the lounge. "I want to talk to the little girl."
I followed him in and sat on the couch next to Monica. He was talking about marriage. Marriage! Ashton wanted to marry me. Spend the rest of our lives together. I couldn't ask for anything better.
