Now that the suspects are narrowed down to red ties, there are only two people left. Mr. Adams, and Mr. Jacobs. Carson, personally, can't  decide which one it could be. Both show an obvious distaste for the monster population, and Jacobs and Adams teach human history and math respectively. Although math had a lot of monsters in it, most have switched into another class. Carson's friends only really stand it for him, Anna, and Daisy.

He shuffles down the sidewalk, looking down nervously in the suffocating silence. Sometimes it seems like silence is worse then a crowd. One always feels like they must start a conversation, but Carson doesnt want to be the center of said conversation. So they continue to the school in silence, all skeptical of their success rate in their upcoming endevour.

(I just looked and realized how much of a jump I have made in vocabulary, just since highschool started. 😂 I'm proud of that.)

The plan is to sneak through the biology classroom, by entering the greenhouse. It's almost always unlocked, which seems stupid to Carson, but helpful in the case of their investigation. The clear building slides into view, moonlight glinting off of the glasss. Even though it is dark, the glint is nearly enough to cause Carson to squint.

"R-Ready?" Alphys finally says quietly.

Their team consists of Carson, Alphys, and Sans. Undyne and Papyrus are acting as lookouts, ready to make a distraction if the need shall arise. It was smart to send in the quieter portion of the group, suggesting that the louder portion stay behind. They can't t have a broken beaker alerting anyone of their presence.

"yup." Carson and Sans echo.

With final glances towards each other, the greenhouse sliding door is quietly shoved aside. Alphys, Carson, and finally, Sans, all enter the room silently, under the cover of darkness. Suddenly shelves grow into foes, beakers turn into cameras, and every shadow turns into that of the late-night biology teacher. Hopefully he actually went home tonight.

Alphys carefully removes an object from her coat, plugging it in to the teachers computer. The device hums to life, casting an eerie green glow over their immediate vicinity. It whirs quietly, before a soft buzzing noise is heard from several corners of the dark classroom.

"A-A-Alright! Cameras d-deactivated!" Alphys whispers happily.

"nice job, A-Alph." Sans compliments.

The three head into the hallway, re-checking every camera, just in case. Their shadows cast an eerie play on the walls, narrating their adventure to the demons in the shadows. The classrooms creep by, until eventually, they reach the human history room. The door is imposing to the small party, even though, in reality, it is just like every other classroom. The door creaks open the same way, the same smell of new books filling their noses.

"A-Alright, search t-the whole room." Carson whispers.

With two nods of comfirmation, they begin their illegal search of the classroom. They might not find anything, and if they don't, their is no way they are searching houses. The school is their only hope for evidence, as searching a house is asking for the police. Though, with the big window, the moonlight disables the shadows transformation. Nothing remotely dangerous can be seen.

After some time of searching, they start to lose patience. Not a single price of potential evidence so far. Carson is aggravated, and nervous about finding Daisy, Flowey, and MK. Plus, Anna never came back, even after he texted her about the results of the test. So overall, Carson's emotions are a mess. Not having any leads is not helping his anxiety.

"g-guys, there's nothing here. We n-need to move out." Sans whispers.

The thought of failure grates on Carson's nerves, but he agrees. So, reluctantly, they shuffle back into the empty hallway, watching as their shadows dance on the walls. It is a quick walk to the math room, past Daisy and Alphys's locker. A big paper with "Missing Person" on it is taped to the front.

The math room is just like every other classroom, except with the respective subject displayed on posters throughout the room. A piece of paper lines the whole top of the room, with as much of pi as they could fit on the wall. It is quite impressive, actually. But poster or not, Carson can already recite 895 digits of pi. He has been working to impress Kat by breaking the 1,000 threshold.

The cabinets yield nothing but protractors, rulers, and calculators. The rest is standard stuff. Drawers of spare tissue boxes, paper, pens, and pencils. Now, the only storage place left is Mr. Adams' desk.

The first drawer immediately spikes Carson's attention.

"M-Mr. Adams is a math t-teacher, not a c-chemistry teacher... r-right?" Carson whispers, staring blankly into the drawer.

The others approach it timidly, both nervous and excited with the prospect of a lead. They peer into the drawer, and both of them draw a sharp breath when they recognize the contents.

A clear, half-empty bottle of chloroform.

The next drawer is even more interesting. It wields a store bought package of red ties.

Through their mental processes, the three find it pretty easy to tell that their culprit is Mr. Adams.

Their math teacher is a (potentially psychopathic) kidnapper.

I know, it isn't much. But I feel like you all deserved something after that long wait.

Speaking of the long wait, I'm so sorry! With the start of my high school career, planning my birthday party, and a family reunion, I just have had trouble fitting writing into my schedule.

To let you know, at the end of my Birthday post, there is a series of questions. I encourage you to answer! It is a question of "What would you like my next fan fiction to be about?". Now, I'm not doing anything as of right now, because I have plenty of ongoing projects to tie off.

But, so far the votes are pointing to Flowerfell.

And by votes, I mean three 😂

One for an original AU idea of mine, and two for flowerfell.

Anyway, enjoy the story! We are fast approaching 800 reads!

You know what? Have at it. A contest, of sorts. See how many people you can tag in the first chapter! 😂

And remember! Reality is an illusion, the universe is a hologram, buy gold, BYE!!!
