HI PEOPLE WHO READ AUTHOR NOTES!

I'M SO SORRY I HAVEN'T UPLOADED FOR LIKE 2-3 WEEKS D:

I feel so lazy but it's just some personal stuff's happening and I've been a bit busy with homework as well so I haven't done anything for a bit. I know this chapter is rather short and it's more of a filler chapter because I HAVE NO IDEAS RIGHT NOW! If you have any ideas I'd appreciate if you'd share them ^w^

-(A very sorry) Emma

Chapter 13

Ruby’s P.O.V

I can’t believe I told him, I even showed him the scars and everything. I know I trusted him but it was always shameful and scary showing them to someone, stuck on my arms to always remind me of the past like a war medal or scars from surgery. I just wished I hadn’t done that first cut that started it all, it was addictive and obsessive and only stopped after I went to the mental hospital. I just wanted to wash them away but it wasn’t as simple as that.

I looked around the hospital room, it was probably around midnight, no one was here and if I had to guess I’d say everyone had been kicked out by one of the nurses. The boys could be pretty annoying at times.

I tried to sit up but I groaned in pain with my bruised rib, instead I sat leaning against my pillow while I gladly picked up my ipod from the table beside me. Leola must have left it here for when I woke up, she knows me to well. The ipod felt cold in my hands as I put in the headphones, I looked down at the screen and frowned as I realised it had a big crack in it. Probably from the accident.

I pressed play and ‘Six feet under the stars’ started, I leaned back into the pillow further as my hands rested in my lap and I stared at the wall in front of me absent-mindedly.

Every part of my body ached and I wanted nothing more than to go back to sleep, Alex’s sweet voice filled my ears and I slowly closed my eyes smiling as I listened to the music.

Time to lay claim to the evidence, fingerprints sell me out but our footprints washed away from the docks downtown. It's been getting late for days and I feel myself deserving of a little time off. We can kick it here for hours and just mouth off about the world and how we know it's going straight to hell.

I felt myself growing more and more drowsier as my worries melted away being replaced with music and sleep. I gladly fell into sleep’s waiting arms as the music was still playing and my ribs still aching.

Andy’s P.O.V

“What are you all still doing here?”

I snapped my head to the back of the room where a nurse was, I’m pretty sure her name was Laura? Whatever her name was she looked quite pissed, I suddenly remembered her telling us to leave Ruby’s hospital room about an hour ago. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, nurse Laura was slightly chubby with dirty blonde hair and fair skin. She also looked to be in her fourties.

Shaun was the first to make a move, he slowly stood up from across the room without looking at the nurse and quietly left the room. He had his shoulders shrugged and his head low, he wasn’t the only one being a grumpybutt, Bradie too stood up and left without a word. I huffed and rolled my eyes, it wasn’t like Ruby was dead, the nurse glared at me and tapped her foot impatiently.

“Alright, alright we’re leaving.” I said and held my hands up in defeat, Leola and I got up and left the room while the nurse was still in it.

“Someone’s on her period.” Leola grunted quietly and I couldn’t help but laugh loudly at her remark, Leola blushed slightly when she realised I had heard. Her phoned beeped and she pulled it out of her jacket pocket, “It’s Sarah, I’ll be right back.” She mumbled and walked off putting her phone to her ear. I felt a pang of jealously when I remembered that she had a girlfriend, why couldn’t she be mine? She was so beautiful and funny and just every inch of perfection. What was even worse was that I had literally no chance of being with her, I stared longingly at her and her cute bubblegum pink hair as she walked down the corridor. I felt a sharp jolt of pain at the back of my head and I spun around to see Shaun with his arm up ready to take another swing. He has guilty plastered all over his face.

“What was that for?” I cried and he just shrugged,

“You fancy her don’t you?” he asked instead of answering my question.

“What! No I don’t!” I said a little to quickly, Shaun giggled and waggled his caterpillar eyebrows.

“Whatever you say” he grinned,

“Asshole.” I grumbled.

“Retard.” He retaliated,

“Dickhead.”

“Weirdo.”

“Cunt.”

“Duckbutt.”

“What?”

“Duckbutt.”

Shaun grinned and spun around and walked over to Bradie, Duckbutt?

I shook my head and walked over to them, Bradie hadn’t said a word since he talked with Ruby a few hours ago. He was leaning against the wall staring bluntly at the ground, he hands in his pockets and his eyes bloodshot of the lack of sleep.

“Should we go home?” I mumbled to Bradie, at first he didn’t reply but eventually he nodded and stood up away from the wall. Leola came back, stuffing her phone in her pocket, she didn’t say anything and we left the hospital and decided to go to mine and Bradie’s place for the night.

Shaun called shotgun and Bradie drove, he needed a distraction. Leola and I sat in the back, Leola stared out the window and leaned her forehead against the cold glass.

I nudged her and she jumped slightly “Hey, she’ll be fine.” I whispered and she shook her head,

“It’s not just that Andy, I’m worried that she’s hiding something.” Her voice barely audible but Bradie somehow heard it.

“Whaddya’ mean?” he asked slightly panicked, I wish he would just calm down.

Leola turned back to the window “She just doesn’t seem right, I know something’s up but she says it’s something she needs to do alone.” I could a tear slowly start to roll down her cheek, I wished I could wipe it off and hold her in a hug.

No one said anything else for the rest of the drive home, we let Leola stay the night and Shaun, who pretty much lived at our place now, stayed over too. The rest of the night was dull and depressing, everyone wouldn’t talk and Bradie and Leola kept exchanging worried looks.

Pity parties suck.
