Bradie’s P.O.V

2 months since she had gone, Ruby.

Everything was so much different without her. Poor Leola had lost her best friend that she’d known since she was 8. I lost the girl who I knew was my absolute true love, who made me forget about everything and made me happier. Leola called her parents and told them what happened, her father wouldn’t stop crying and blaming himself. I couldn’t help but blame myself as well, if only I’d been a few minutes quicker I could have saved her. We had her funeral today; Leola made a playlist of all her favourite acoustic songs and so many people showed up. I asked if we could play a special song. I had written it after Ruby died, I had stopped writing songs for ages but I just needed to get my feelings onto paper. The boys even decided to add it to our new album ‘Bat Country’.

I walked onto the little make shift stage with Shaun, Andy and Sinj came along to play keyboard, I picked up the microphone.

“I, uh, wrote this for Ruby after she died. She changed my life so much, opened my eyes to new things and most of all completed me. She was and still is the love of my life. So I’d like to perform this song for her, Ruby Red.” I sniffed as I realised I had started crying, the boys look sullen and sympathetic. I handed the mic to Shaun and sat down on my stool.
