“A person who has good thoughts can never be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face line sunbeams and you will always look lovely”
-Ronald Dahl
When facing everyday challenges, such as stress at home, a job we hate - which face it, we ALL go through - there is one thing and one thing only to remember. That is to stay positive. In this journey called life, we are put through what seems like impossible, never-ending obstacles that seem like we can never overcome, but with a little patience and a level head, it IS POSSIBLE.
Inhale, breathe deeply, and exhale.
It's a difficult feat to try not to fall into the grasp of negativity in our fast-paced, demanding society and outside forces trying to drag us down. We are forced to believe we should be perfect and never make mistakes or feel a certain way. The list goes on and on. We aren't robots and we definitely are not the Stepford Wives. When the world seems to be crumbling at your fingertips, the last thing anyone wants to hear is "cheer up" or "why are you always so upset?" That is infuriating as it is, even when you are not upset or mad and just deep in concentration or a quiet person in general.
The brain is one of the most amazing, yet complex organisms that ever existed. Just as the mind can trick us into feeling a certain way or even manipulate our physical bodies into thinking we are sick, we can also trick that tricky little organ back. Our thoughts are very powerful and we can actually create a sort of misfortune for ourselves with our negative feelings and thoughts, but we can also create happiness with positive thinking and encouragement, we just have to challenge the negative mentality. If you continue to thinking of positive ways to change and keep on it - good things will happen and the black cloud over your head will float away. If you don't at least try, you will never know what lies ahead. Take the leap. Though a change may seem frightening, it will take no time to become adjusted and will leave you wondering what you were so afraid about in the first place.
Failure must be accepted to move on and accept change. To err is really just human. Take responsibility for your mistakes, no matter how big or small (we all make them) and forgive and move on. No one is perfect and you should not change for anyone and be accepted the way you are. Believe in yourself and that you can overcome any obstacle thrown your way. Associate yourself with positive influences who's negative mojo will drag you down. Do not be affected by their choices and attitudes; it will only affect your positivity, and don't worry about their happiness. Do what makes you happy. Be thankful and instead of dwelling on the coulda, shoulda, woulda, take pride in what you've already accomplished and what you will have. Set reasonable goals that are attainable with your lifestyle, time and budget and NEVER be afraid to try something new. You will never know where it could bring you!
Remind yourself that you can, you want and you will!
Staying optimistic can dramatically alter your life for the better and you will physically begin to see changes you will walk straighter, smile more and maybe even glow. Your aura of happiness and positivity will surround you and others will catch onto your good vibes. You will be oozing with the good stuff and may have to wear a warning sign, it's that contagious. At least you won't have to wear a "back off" warning sign because you are unhappy.
Do not limit yourself to positive changes - anything you wish for can be obtained. Focus and write on how to make necessary changes and tackle them head-on and step by step. Keep your eyes and mind on the prize or whatever it is you want to change in your life and eventually you can achieve your goals and walk on the golden path. It may not be immediate and happen overnight, but in due time, sunny days will come again and forever warm you in its rays.
