"Good morning, Sweetheart."
"Good morning, Owen."
"Uh, I thought we agreed on you calling me Mr. Pick-Me-Upper only, from now on."
"Um, when was that? And where was I?"
"Oh yeah, that's right. I guess I didn't actually tell you. Whoops."
"Yeah, whoops. That seems like something I need to be part of. I'm just playing with you. You know that right? I'm not really mad at you."
"I know. But I still, I think it's a cool idea."
"What is?"
"Calling me by the nickname you gave me."
"I don't know Owen, I don't really like that idea."
"Why? You have to supply me with a good excuse."
"I just feel like it's a stupid idea. And I feel like it's almost degrading. Not to mention that I like your actual name more than Mr. Pick-Me-Upper."
"Thank you for that compliment. Don't worry, I understand what you mean. I won't make you call me that, Okay? I don't want you to ever feel uncomfortable with anything."
"Thank you. I appreciate it."
"You're welcome."
"But I'll make a deal with you."
"What's that?"
"I'll agree to call you Mr. Pick-Me-Upper if you and when you call me Sweetheart."
"That sounds like a good compromise. I accept your deal."
"Sweet. Thank you."
"Also, I won't call you Sweetheart constantly just to make you say that."
"Thank you, again. I was a little worried about that. But then I remembered you would tell me not to worry, so I didn't."
"That's my girl."
"Okay don't do that again. It made me feel weird."
"It felt weird saying it too."
"Anyway, I get to see my brother for the first time in years today."
"Oh wow! Why has it been so long? Not to be rude, but why are you seeing him?"
"My mom wasn't happy with his choice of career. He's a DJ, by the way. He lives in Florida now, so we barely see him. So she banished me from seeing him and the rest is history."
"Oh wow."
"Me too. But my mom doesn't. Or I guess she is coming to terms with it being his life and he can do what he want to do. So now she's okay with his job and actually is encouraging him."
"That's good."
"This all happened because I told my mom some of the advice you gave me and she rethought everything so now after years, I get to see my brother. All thanks to you."
