The diner is known as the "after school" and "after work" social spot. From families, to friends, to teams, to work employees celebrating a week of work well done, our diner seems to always be busier on Friday's versus every other day. Saturday nights are close but Friday's at 1 to closing is like a nonstop conveyer belt with people coming in and out.
I let out a sigh or relief as the last customer of the day finally left. "What a day!" Melanie my coworker sighed happily as she sat down on one of the seats at the bar. "Was there a party we didn't know about?"
"I think it was actually the high school's homecoming game." I laughed wiping down the counter.
"Speaking of homecoming," she said wiggling her eyebrows. "How's Tom?" She said in a singsongy voice.
"He's good," I said biting my lip to keep from smiling.
Tom and I were best friends long before he became Spider-Man. We started dating right before he landed the role. It was tough when he was filming but we made it work. After he finished filming, we moved in together.
"I cannot believe you are sleeping with that gorgeous man!!" She giggled. I couldn't help but roll my eyes. That was usually the response I got out of girls when they found out I was dating the Tom Holland. "What is he like? Is he just like the sweetest guy??"
"He's an ass." I laughed as her eyes went wide.
"What?! No! He is the sweetest person ever!!"
"You haven't even met him," I laughed. "I've known him since we were both in diapers, which he was in longer than I was by the way. He's an annoying ass who is also a cinnamon roll."
"His ass though. . ."
"Okay, I'm gonna leave now." I said, laughing. I went to the back room and grabbed my purse before heading to my car.
The drive home was relaxing and before I knew it, I was pulling into our driveway. I smiled as I saw Tom's car already taking up space in our driveway. Very few nights was he actually home before me.
As soon as I walked through the door, I kicked off my shoes and shrugged off my jacket. I walked into the kitchen but stopped when I wasn't welcomed by a certain little gray dog. I looked by the front door to see Tom's sneakers next to Tessa's leash. When I walked into the kitchen I saw Tom's keys and phone sitting on the counter.
"Tom?" I walked around downstairs, checking all the rooms downstairs before making my way upstairs.
"Tom?" I bit my lip, starting to get nervous. I felt my hands begin to shake as I walked upstairs.
"Where are you, Tom?" I whispered biting my lip. I opened the door to our shared room and instantly relaxed. Tom was asleep on our bed with Tessa next to him.
I quietly changed into a pair of leggings and one of Tom's t-shirt. "Y/N?" I heard from behind me as I pulled his shirt on.
"Hey, babe." I whispered.
"You're home." He smiled sleepily, lifting the covers signaling for me to join him. I gently laid down on the other side of Tessa. Tom pouted before snuggling into the blankets.
"Yes I am. And so are you. How was filming today?"
He groaned into his pillow before looking at me. "It was long. And boring. I wish you were there. Whenever you come to set, it always makes my day better. Will you please come over here?"
"I'm right here Tom." I said sleepily, putting my hand on his arm that was resting on Tessa.
"No. You're over there. Come closer."
"You're so needy." I laughed.
"Yes. Yes I am." He said with a knowing smirk on his face. He furred his brow as I got out of bed and walked around to the other side. "What are you doing?" He asked, sleepily.
"Walking to the other side because your dog stole my spot." Tessa peaked at me from over Tom's shoulder, wagging her tail. Tom scooted over so I could fit behind him.
"Now I see why you like being the little spoon," he mumbled after I climbed into bed. My arm was draped over his chest and our legs were intertwined. I pressed my forehead to his back and could feel his breathing begin to slow.
I smiled to myself as Tom put his hand on top of mine, intertwining our fingers, as I ran my other hand through his hair. Days like this, being able to just be near him, made his busy work schedule, my busy class and work schedule, all the late nights, the lonely weekends and the months without seeing each other, worth it.
"I can feel you smiling." He mumbled. "Why are you smiling, darling?"
"Because I'm happy, stupid."
"Okay, jerk. Then why are you happy?" He laughed.
"Because. . . I feel like it's been forever since we have just laid next to each other and enjoyed each other's company." Tom turned around and kissed my noes.
"It has been too long," he said pulling me into his chest. I fell asleep to Tom rubbing my back and the heavy breathing of Tessa.
