Can I just say; sometimes being a girl sucks!! Yes we have clothes and shoes and makeup but once a month I envy boys.
I was currently curled up in a ball under my comforter. I heard the opening theme song for The Office signaling another episode starting. I looked up when it stopped to see the haunting "continue watching" button.
"Damn you Netflix. Don't judge me." I groaned as I painfully sat up. Just as I grabbed the remote my phone started ringing. I groaned when I realized it was on my bedside table on the other side of my bed.
"Hello?" I groaned out.
"Y/N, darling? Are you alright?"
"No," I said laying back down.
"What's wrong? Are you hurt? Are you sick? What can I do? Y/N? Please, love. You have to tell me what's going on."
"Tom!!!" I laughed. "I'm fine. It's just. . . It's. . ."
"It's what darling?"
"It's nothing. It's just. . . I feel like I'm being stabbed in the stomach while someone else stabs me in the back. I feel like a oompah loompah, I am so bloated. And every time I move I feel like I'm going to pass out." I said quickly. I bit my lip as I waited for Tom to respond.
"I'll be there soon." With that he hung up the phone. Sighing, I tossed my phone on the other side of my bed, swearing when it hit the ground.
I collapsed back on my bed and groaned in pain. I soon drifted off to sleep, thinking about my Spider-Man. I woke up gasping in pain. I reached for pain medication but groaned when I realized I was out. Groaning, I painfully stood up and made my way to my bathroom. Before I could grab the medicine, there was a knock at my door.
When I opened my door, I couldn't stop the tears from forming. There, on my doorstep, was a tired boy in sweatpants and a tank top with his hands full of grocery bags.
"Hi," he said out of breath. "I may have stopped at the grocery store on my way here and got you some comfort food. I bought a box of your favorite chocolate, your favorite flavor of ice cream, your favorite store bought cookies and brownies, your favorite soda of course, some pain medicine my mom swears by, a heating pad that my mom said works "wonders". Ummm some slippers and fuzzy socks. I bought both because I didn't know which one you would prefer. I brought a few RomComs you can choose from, that weird essential oil stuff that is suppose to help with pain. I brought a super soft, fuzzy blanket. Oh! And I brought your favorite sweater of mine from my apartment. You know, the one you always steal. Wait, why are you crying?"
"Tom," I tried to say. I looked at his arms full of grocery bags and smiled. "I don't deserve all this." I could feel Tom's eyes on me as I walked away.
"Y/N. Come on, darling. Y/N? What's wrong? Please talk to me." I ignored Tom as he called out to me. I went into the kitchen and opened my medicine cabinet. I stood on my tip toes and tried to reach the pain pills but couldn't. I grabbed the stool and shakily stood up. I gasped when I felt two hands grab my waist.
"Y/N. Please come down so we can talk. I don't want you to fall." I took a shaky breath as Tom helped me down. When my feet touched the ground, Tom pulled me into his arms.
After a few minutes, Tom broke the silence. "How could you possibly think you don't deserve this?"
"I'm sorry." I said between sobs. "I don't know what's going on with me."
"I think that would be your hormones talking, darling." He said kissing my forehead. "Why don't you go take a nice warm bath and when you get out you can change into my sweater. I will order some pizza and when you get out we will lay on the couch and watch movies until you feel better. Or until we fall asleep. Whichever comes first."
After I had changed into Tom's sweater, I walked down stairs to see he had laid all the snacks on the coffee table. The blanket was folded nicely on the couch with the slippers and socks next to it. The movies were laid out on the floor in front of the tv. Tom was sitting in front of the movies, trying to decide which movie we should watch.
He turned around when he heard me walk into the room. "Hey," he smiled as he stood up. He wrapped me in a hug and kissed the top of my head. "You smell like strawberries." He said smelling my hair.
"How are you feeling?" He asked pulling away from the hug. I just shrugged. He looked at me sadly as he tucked a piece of hair behind my ear.
He grabbed my hand, intertwining our fingers, and led me to the couch. We spent the rest of the night eating pizza and the treats he brought and watching all the movies.
Halfway through Hitch I broke the silence. "If I'm this big of a mess during my period, I hate to see how bad I'll be when I'm pregnant." I laughed, hiding my face.
I felt Tom laugh as his arms tightened around me. "You are going to be a great mother. I can't wait to see you with our children."
"Our children?" I stuttered as I sat up. "You've. . . You've thought about stuff like that?"
"Of course," he shrugs. "I've thought about how I was going to propose, what our first dance would be to, how amazing you would look in your wedding dress, what our future home will look like, the look of your face when you find out your pregnant, and how it's going to feel holding our son or daughter for the first time. I always think about our life together Y/N because I love you and I want to be with you the rest of my life."
"I love you too, Tom."
