Surprising Her

Tom's POV

Harrison and I have been traveling doing press for Spider-Man: Homecoming for the past three months. I was filming for 5 months before. As much as I love being Spider-Man, I hate that I haven't been with my Y/N in almost 9 months.

"I miss you," Y/N said sleepily as we did our nightly FaceTime call.

"I miss you too, darling." We sat in silence, just looking at each other. Suddenly, Tessa jumped onto Y/N, making me smile.

"There we go. Both of my girls. Together." I smiled.

"She misses you. I can tell. I'll come home from class or work and she'll be lying on your side of the bed. She whimpers a lot, baby." She started to cry softly.

"Y/N," I sighed. My heart broke as tears streamed down her cheeks.

"I'm sorry," she said between tears. "I just. . . I feel like you've been gone a really long time."

"I know, darling. I wish more than anything that I was lying next to you, watching tv with you in my arms. But just a couple more weeks, darling."

"Where are you?" She asked looking at me through tear strained eyes.

"I'm backstage for an interview." Actually, I was in the Beijing airport, waiting for my plane back to London. We finished two weeks early and instead of telling Y/N, I was planning on surprising her.

"How many of those do you have left?" She asked.

"Just the one today, two tomorrow and three next week." I lied.

"That's awful," she said looking down at Tessa who was now asleep next to her.

I opened my mouth to respond but Harrison walked over. "Ready?" He asked.

"Darling, I got to go." Her face fell causing my heart to do the same. "I'm so sorry," I said softly.

"It's okay, Tom. I understand. It's your job. It's important."

"Not as important as you are, Y/N. I love you."

"I love you too."

A few hours later, we landed in London. We were currently waiting for our luggage. I didn't notice my knee was bouncing until Harrison kicked my foot.

"Dude, how are you worse now that we are home than when we were in China?" He laughed.

"I'm sorry. I'm just eager to get home and see Y/N." Harrison just laughed.

The ride to our apartment was quiet. When we pulled into the driveway, I felt my heart beat faster. I quietly opened the doors and practically ran up the stairs. I stepped through our shared bedroom door.

I peaked my head in and saw Y/N asleep with Tessa curled up next to her. I tiptoed into the room and crawled in bed next to her. "Y/N?" I said softly, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

"Hmmm?" She sighed sleepily, not opening her eyes.

"Darling," I tried again to wake her up. Her eyes fluttered open.

"Tom?" Her eyes widened and she jumped back, causing her to fall off the bed. I couldn't hold in my laughter as I peaked over the edge of the bed to see her tangled in her sheets.

"Y/N?" I said between laughs.

She looked at me before jumping up and pretty much tackling me on the bed. I smiled as her arms wrapped around my neck. I pressed my lips to the top of her head.

She pulled away and put my head in her hands. "You're here," she said as tears started to fall.

I leaned down and pressed my lips to hers. "Surprise."
