Tom's POV

I don't know why I haven't called Y/N. Maybe it's because I've been busy. Maybe it's because my phone was dead that day. Or I was too tired. Or it was really late where I was. Or it was early where she is. Or she is in class. Or she is at work. I have used all of these as excuses when Harrison asks if I called Y/N.

That's exactly what all of those are. Excuses.

"I don't get why you won't just call her," Harrison sighed as we walked from my trailer to set.

"Because," I started.

"Don't give me one of your half-assed excuses." Harrison laughed.

"What do you want me to say? She probably doesn't even want to talk to me."

"How do you know that?"

"You didn't see her face when I left. She wouldn't even look at me. I pretty much blamed her for everything that's been going wrong in our relationship." I said running a hand through my hair.

Harrison reached out and grabbed my arm, making me stop. "Okay. Stop. You and Y/N are great together. You love her. And she loves you. You guys," he sighed. "The way you two are. The way you guys are together. The way you treat her and the way you look at her. . . It inspires me to find a girl who I love as much as you love her."

I opened my mouth to respond but Jon called me over. Before I could walk away, Harrison grabbed my arm. "You and Y/N belong together. Don't give up on her."

As the director yelled cut, I sighed and began to walk towards Harrison. When he wasn't in his chair, I looked around and saw him standing off to the side, on the phone. He bit his lip as he hung up. As I got closer I saw it wasn't his phone.

It was mine.

"Harrison?" He looked over at me with a scared look on his face. "What's wrong?" I asked as I jogged towards him.

"It's ummm. Your. . . Your mom called. It's. . . It's not good, mate." He took a shaky breath. "It's Y/N."

My heart dropped. "Y/N? What about Y/N?" My voice came out soft and shaky.

Harrison looked at my phone in his hand before taking a deep breath. "Harrison," I said making him look at me. "Just tell me. What happened to Y/N?"

"She was in a car accident." I felt like the air got knocked out of me as he continued. "It's pretty bad. She was t-boned by a truck. Police say the other driver was drunk and ran a red light. He hit her at 86 miles an hour. Her car flipped onto the driver's side, slid across the intersection and wrapped around a pole. They. . . Tom, they had to cut her out of the car. She was rushed to the hospital and taken right to surgery."

With each word that came out of Harrison's mouth, my heart beat faster and faster. By the time he was done, the room was spinning. "Tom?" Harrison put his hand on my shoulder, trying to get my attention.

I could barely form words. "When?"

"The accident happened about 45 minutes ago. She got to the hospital a little over ten minutes ago. You're mom was on the phone with her when it happened. She rushed to the hospital and got there the same time Y/N and the ambulance did. She's still there now."

"What. . . How. . . Why. . ." I couldn't think of what to say next. "What do I do now? This is all my fault. What if. . . What if she dies and. . .and it's all my fault. What if she dies and I'm not there, holding her hand?"

"Tom, stop!" Harrison yelled, grabbing my shoulders. "She is going to be fine. Y/N is a strong girl. She is going to make it. The two of you are going to make it. We are going to get you home, to Y/N."

Before I knew it, Harrison and I were running through the airport, looking like crazy people. Once we got to the gate, I couldn't sit still. I jumped when my phone started ringing.

"Please tell me she is okay. Please!" I said breathlessly.

"Honey, I just talked to the doctor." My mum said quietly.

"Is she. . . She's gone?" I said tears starting to fall. Harrison's head snapped up and he looked at me with wide eyes.

"No! No sweetheart! She's still in surgery." I felt myself sigh in relief.

"Mum?" I said softly.

"Yes?"

"Please, please stay with her. I can't lose her." She didn't get a chance to answer before our flight was called.

*****

I ran through the hospital, scanning each room for Y/N. When I finally found her room, I was too late. The nurse was covering her with a blanket.

"No," I said breathlessly. "Please, no." I ran into her room and tore the blanket off of her. Y/N was pale and covered in bruises. Seeing her, lying motionless on the hospital bed made me feel like my whole world was falling apart.

I carefully picked her lifeless body up in my arms and held her close to my chest. I had one hand on the back of her head and the other on the small of her back.

"Please, Y/N. Please come back to me darling." I buried my face in her hair and sobbed. "I love you."
