The UK section of our tour had now come to a close and Ben and West had both decided that going to Alton Towers was the best way to celebrate, despipte it being no more than an incredibly overrated theme park. We'd been here since ten o'clock this morning and a couple of the boys had been recognised once or twice, but we were mostly just left to ourselves to mess around all day. My past experiences with Alton Towers thankfully hadn't been repeated today- meaning that it hadn't started to rain and no one had gotten lost- but someone (Dani) hadn't been able to afford a fast track pass, so we still had to stand around waiting for horrific queues to go down to actually get onto anything. Cara had suggested getting the passes anyway and letting him suffer, but he'd sulked and everyone felt bad, so waiting in line was just going to have to suffice.
Now, though, it was lunch time, and I was starting to regret this entire day trip. I felt like I was really becoming a friend to this band, now, and I was starting to get to know them properly, but they made everything way more difficult than even Zach did; that was a huge achievement. We (West) had agreed to stop at Burger King because someone (Dani) didn't want a KFC, and Ben had been designated (wrongfully) to order the food - mostly because Dani thought he'd 'do it wrong' if we made him order himself.
"Right," Ben said, index finger in the air, "West, two double whopper meals. Coke. Sam, double cheeseburger meal. Pepsi? Freak." Sam kicked his friend under the picnic table we'd claimed, two chairs perched at the end to fit everyone on. Ben rolled his eyes before rubbing his shin and continuing with his list. "West, Sam..." he mumbled under his breath. "Dani! Big king meal, steakhouse meal and 9 nuggets. Fanta. Where the fuck are you putting all of this?"
"I'm a growing boy!" Dani wailed.
"You're twenty two. Fil, four chicken strips and a kids chicken burger meal? With water? Why though? You three," he said, motioning to Cara, Zach and myself, "are all having angus classics with onion rings. Coke. Fanta. Fruit shoot?" He looked at Zach as if he'd shot him. Zach simply shrugged. "I've missed someone. Who have I missed?" I rolled my eyes and stood up as Fil said:
"Maybe someone should go with him?"
"On it," I said, with a tiny smile, following a confused Ben over to the Burger King kiosk. He mumbled the orders to himself until he reached the little desk, which was far too high up for my liking.
"Hi! What can I get you today?" Asked an overly excited 'Kayla'.
"Uhm..." He leaned closer to my height before whispering, "I forgot,"
"Just a minute," I said to the employee. "Ever so sorry." I pulled Ben back to our table, where everyone yelled the orders at him again; I took notes in my phone this time, before heading back to the kiosk, Ben (who had literally no idea what was actually happening) in tow.
"Hi! What can I get you today?" Kayla asked, again, extremely robotic. I wasn't sure I liked her very much.
"Two double whopper meals," Ben started, earning a little thumbs up from myself for remembering; Ben's memory wasn't exactly A* standard. "A double cheeseburger meal, a big king meal?" I nodded my head and indicated for him to continue. "That's all I remember."
"Nine chicken nuggets, a steakhouse meal, four chicken strips," I paused once I realised Kayla looked a bit frazzled.
"Steakhouse meal?"
"Four chicken strips. Kids chicken burger meal, three angus classics," Kayla looked at me as if to say 'who the hell are you people feeding?'; a hoard of twenty-somethings, that's who. "Three portions of six onion rings. Two cokes-"
"Is diet okay?"
"Diet is fine. One Pepsi-"
"Is coke okay?" A sentence I'd never heard before in my life. I glanced at Ben.
