I missed him.

His laugh, the way his smile always reached his eyes, oh, those blue sparkling eyes that I always seemed to loose myself in.

I couldn't help it. I missed him.

Asa had been gone a year. He had begged me to come with him, told me that his manager had allowed it and I could spend time with him while he filmed but I refused, saying I should stay home and take care of the house. I wanted desperately to go, but I had been offered a job to act and I had to stay.

Asa understood, saying he would be back home as soon as he could. He packed his bags, left me with a last kiss to my lips and left to film.

It had been exactly 365 days since Asa had left me at home. And I missed him like hell.

It was two in the morning, and I was awake.

I was surprised my body could even stay awake after I had only gotten 4 hours of sleep the day before. But nerves had a way of awakening your body without any need for caffeine. Yet, my fingers made a cup anyways, because I somehow knew I would need it. My hair was in a bun as I grabbed my phone, checking my notifications and noticing two, both from Asa. One was notifying me that he had posted a photo on instagram and the other was a message.. to the instagram post.

The posts was a selfie he took, one before he boarded the plane, as the description only said, 'going home to my beautiful girlfriend who I haven't seen in a year. missing her like crazy.'

A smile tugged my lips apart as I grabbed my keys and headed to the car, where I drove to the airport, knowing Asa would get there in an hour.

Much to my relief, there were few people here, waiting for their loved ones as I spotted a small crowd of fans waiting for Asa. They hadn't spotted me and I was happy, as I tugged my hoodie on over my head and anxiously tapped my foot, waiting for the minute that I could hold him in my arms again.

I realized that this had been the longest time that Asa and I had been away, seeing as we had been dating for 3 years, our anniversary coming up in a few months.

The hour that I had been waiting passed quickly as the first few people walked out of the terminal, making their way to their loved ones. The small group of fans had dispersed and most had gone home, knowing full well they were missing hours of sleep for an actor who was tired from his flight.

It seemed the seconds turned into hours as I finally caught sight of who I was looking for. He was easy to spot, his black hair messy on his head and his blue eyes searing the small airport, until they finally landed on me. His tired features soon shaped into a wide grin, his eyes widening as he dropped his bags on the floor. My heart hammered in my chest, as I looked at him before breaking out into a run, straight for the boy I had missed in so long.

The distance between us closed as I jumped into his arms and wrapped my legs around his waist, his arms coming to hold my body as I sobbed into his chest, the distance that had soon been a year now coming together in the span of seconds. Asa was crying too, as the distance had grown something on us.

Lifting my head from his shoulder I looked into his now puffy eyes, as a smile broke on his face before my lips met his.

The long awaited kiss between us.

It was better than I had imagined as we molded into each other, his arms still wrapped around my body as I still clung onto him. My fingers rolled through his hair, as we moved in sync.

Our lips parted, as I looked into his eyes, a smile on my face.

"God, I missed you."

"I missed you too, Danielle."

I jumped from his body, my arms wrapped around his neck as I brought him into another hug. His fall frame was hunched over a little, as I stood in my toes to reach him.

He untangled his arms from my body, a smile on his face before he grabbed my hand, intertwining his fingers into mine and grabbing his bags. With my other hand free, I grabbed another bag and helped him, walking to our car outside.

"How was filming?"

"It sucked without my beautiful girlfriend."

"I missed you here too, Asa."

"God, I missed you like hell, Danielle. I almost gave up."

"Good thing you didn't."

We stared at each other, our vibe leeching love as we realized how our relationship had been stable without seeing each other.

"I'm so lucky to have you, Danielle. I love you so goddamn much."

"I love you too, Butterfield. More than you could ever know."
