few days later

*Maddy's POV*

i was debating to go see my father today, he needs serious help and i dont know what to say to him.

"you want breakfast?" Ethan asks bringing me out of my deep thoughts.

"uh no im not hungry" i say.

"you haven't eaten in 2 days" he says worried. i pick up a apple but as im about to bite into it my phone rings, i look at Ethan who is giving me the 'dont even think about it' stare. i throw the apple over my shoulder and i run to pick up the phone.

"Hello?"

"hi madison"

"Ms. Monte?"

"yes i have some news about your father"

"oh ok, is he ok?"

"he died last night, suicide of course." i became silent, my stomach drops. " i know its gonna be hard but we need you to stay strong"

"we?"

"your fathers will instates that the business is to be passed down to you, his lawyer called and he needs to meet with you asap"

"yes of course but you must know that i won't be able to do this by myself"

"yes we know and we will be here for you sweetheart, i got to go now bye"

i hung up, and i just stand there like a idiot still unaware of wtf is going on.

"Madison? is everything ok?" i turn my attention to Ethan.

"he died, and he's passing down his company to me"

"omg Madison im sorry" he hugs me.

"what am i gonna do i cant take over the company" i cry.

"its ok I'll help and im sure my family could too, everything will be ok"

"He's still gone Ethan" i ball.

"ik ik" he whispers softly pulling me into his chest.

after what felt like hours in his arms i finally get it together.

"Ms. monte said we have to call my fathers lawyer to figure things out" i sniffle, he nods.

i grab my phone and dial the number.

ring ring

"hello?"

"hi Backster uh this is Arthurs daughter im calling about his will"

"oh Madison yes im so sorry for your loss and we can schedule a meeting"

"yea ok"

" does tomorrow around 1 work for you?"

"uh yes thats perfect"

"okay just email me your address and its settled"

"ok sounds good"

"ok bye now"

"bye"

i turn off my phone.

"tomorrow around 1" i sigh.

"im coming right?" E says.

"well obviously" i smile, he hugs me i take in his scent for it calms me and makes me feel safe.

"i love you" i pull away, he grabs my face and kisses me softly.

"i love you too" he whispers, his lips brushing against mine. i smile widely and so does he, i feel myself being lift up. he spins me around then throws me on the couch tickling me, my laughs echoing through our apartment.

"stop-stop" i say in between laughs, i push him off me.

"i gotta pee" i laugh and heard him laugh from inside the bathroom.

the rest of the night we were cuddled up watching movies til 1 am.
