Rose sighed deeply, looking over the map table. She had dismissed Minerva and Athena and told them to rest. She wanted to be by herself.
She examined the map in all its detail, trying to figure out where to send people to be most effective at protecting her people. There was only so much she'd be able to do, as Exodious was large and her army wasn't limitless.
If this continued she would have to ask the Hunter's Guild for help. The ones in Exodious would gladly help, but they would not be enough.
She glanced at the clock on the wall and sighed. She had made the decision to send her shade back to her home to help enforce the laws in the Realm of Ghosts. So her soul felt empty, and she felt weak from the distance.
She jumped when Dragoon placed a hand on her shoulder. "You don't look well." The dragon told her. "You should rest."
"I'll sleep when I'm dead." Rose retorted. "There's too much to do."
"You can justify dueling but not sleep?"
"Dueling keeps my skills sharp."
"And sleeping keeps your mind sharp. If your exhausted you're no use to us." Dragoon told her.
"There's too much that needs to be done." Rose waved her off.
"Then forgive me for disobeying my Lady's orders." Dragoon bowed respectively before taking the vampire's arm and pulled her along.
"Dragoon." The queen groaned.
"You don't even have the strength to resist me." Dragoon noted. "Get some rest."
"If it'll get you to leave me be." Rose grumbled.
"I'm going to make sure you actually fall asleep. Something tells me that you'll just sneak out the moment I walk away."
"You would have been right." Rose grumbled as Dragoon stopped at the door. "Why must you be so infuriating?"
"Because I care." Dragoon answered. "Plus, how many people can say they drive Lady Rose mad without being evil?"
"The same number of people who can say they bested me in combat." Rose grumbled.
"That includes your eldest daughters then?"
"They more so than you." Rose answered. "Don't ever have children Dragoon. It doesn't end well."
"You act like I'll actually try to have any. The last thing we need are more Blood Dragons running about."
"Your nature is not your fault."
"Indeed. It's Theirs."
"I question why the True Gods gave up their forms for mortal ones. They could have lived eternity without fear yet they descended to Exodious to join us." Rose rolled her eyes. "They could have created a thousand more worlds yet they remained to stay and guard this one, giving up their power to create."
"Indeed. Such a transition confused even me." Dragoon confessed. "Till we parted from Elysium, and you fell from Venus."
"You remember the transition?" Rose looked up at the dragon with confusion. "Why have you never spoke of it?"
"You never asked. I assumed you wanted those memories repressed for a reason." Dragoon answered. "Do you not?"
"I remember nothing before I fell from Venus. How can you?"
"Because I didn't. Venus was instructed to wipe you and your siblings clean. To prevent you from hearing us so Exodious couldn't manipulate you. Her voice was still a whisper in our thoughts, and to defeat her, we needed to separate you the same way she had."
