Of course, that five minutes quickly turned into twenty, and I'd just about given up when I saw him waltzing down the hallway like he owned the place.

What a douche.

"Hey, baby," he said with a wink when he reached me. I rolled my eyes.

Guys who know they're gorgeous shouldn't display it so obviously. It was really going to end in violence.

I got up, dusted off my butt and shrugged my bag onto my shoulder.

"Okay, you can let me in now," I said, pretending like I didn't notice the excited glint in his eyes. I still hadn't come up with a plan, so maybe feigning ignorace would work.

He grinned, "Oh no. We had a deal." I bit my lip, yeah, of course it wouldn't work.

He put the keys in the door, but instead of turning the lock he looked at me expectantly. I frowned deeply.

"Fine," I tried to slow down my racing heart and I took a step closer to him. He eyes had darkened a little, and a strand of his gorgeous hair fell in front of his face as he leaned in a little closer to me.

Without breathing, I leaned in too, hesitantly making my way to his lips. This is so ridiculously embarassing. Just when I thought I was going to have a heart attack from the amount of palpatations I had, someone called his name.

He cursed and turned around angrily, taking his hand off the door, "What the fuck do you want?" I saw my chance and darted to the keys, quickly turning them and entering the dorm.

"YES!" I screamed with success, and he looked back at me with a curse.

Then with a glance back at his friend - Nick, I thought it was - he said, "Thanks a lot, man." I popped my head out of the door.

"Yeah, thanks so much Nick!" I grinned, and Nick looked bewildered. I giggled and ran back into the room, extremely pleased with myself. I jumped on my bed and started up my laptop.

"What just happened?" I heard him murmur through the door, and Mark just told him to forget about it. They entered our dorm, and started to talk about some party that was happening tonight.

I ignored them, and pulled out my notebook to set myself up for some hard core study time. I still had two midterms this week, afterall. I was interrupted by a pair of dirty boxers that landed on my face.

I screamed in shock, and disgust. "WHAT THE -" then the laughter that echoed through the entire room made my chest well up with swirling anger. I threw Marks boxers back at him, but I accidentally hit Nick. Oops.

That caused another bout of laughter from Mark, who had fallen off his bed and into a heap of hysterics. I just glared at him. "You're insufferable."

Nick chuckled a little - he'd never been one to be bothered by Mark's shenanegans. You'd think I'd have gotten used to it, but really I hadn't. I still couldn't believe someone could be so awful.

"Hey Faye, why don't you come with us to the party tonight? It's supposed to be tons of fun. There's a really great local band that's supposed to play. What do you think?" I looked at Nick, and then at Mark who had stopped laughing all of a sudden and was staring at Nick like he was a foreign species.

"Why would you invite her? She's boring." He said it so matter-of-factly I couldn't help but huff at him.

Then I thought about it, I'd show him! "Sure Nick, I'll go. It's not as if I'm boring or anything," I said vehemently with my eyes fixed on Mark. "What time does it start?"

He smiled, pleased with my answer, "At nine, but we'll probably leave here at ten or ten thirty. We can take you if you want, I'm the DD." He said with a frown, clinking his keys together.

I looked at the clock on my computer, it was six thirty, so I had about four hours to get ready. That was probably enough time. "Yeah, okay, that's fine. I can go with you, but I call shotgun. I'm not dealing with him." I said with a finger pointed at Mark. I'd have to delay my studies, but I also knew I needed some sort of fun after that exam.

"Sounds good to me." Nick said before Mark could begin his protest. I smiled as they started to argue, and went into our closet to find something to wear.

An hour passed, and I couldn't decide what to wear. I had narrowed my options down to a little black dress that I'd never had the courage to wear out in public, a lacy red crop top with a bow on the back and jean shorts, and a green corset style top with a pair of dark jeans.

"Nick!" I called for him because he was the only other person around that I could stand to be around for more than three seconds, and I figured he could at least be semi-nice. Only good thing about Mark: His friends and his personality didn't match.

He popped his head into the closet, "Sup?" I showed him the outfits.

"Thoughts?" He looked at them, then at me, then at them again, then held a shirt up to me, then put it back down and looked at them again.

Wow, he was serious. I should make a mental note to ask him more often. "Do you want bring someone home, or do you want to make yourself look sexy enough to bring someone home but not enough to look like your trying?"

Um.

"The latter, I guess." It couldn't hurt to look good, could it?

"Okay, then the corset. It's sexy as hell, but not quite as sexy as the LBD." He winked at me and left the room. I smiled at his back, at least he was honest.

And I took his advice, dolled it up a little with some black heeled boots and curled my short hair. I did my make up, highlighted my eyes and cheekbones, and put on a very cute owl pendant. I clipped on a couple thick leather bracelets and figured I was done.

I walked back to my bed to show the guys, since we had an individual bathroom (thank God it wasn't community, as we were on the guys floor despite me living on it). The looks I got let me know I had done well and I grinned.

"What do you think?" Nick couldn't stop gaping at me, and Mark's eyes darkened - though he just shrugged nonchalantly. Can't fool me! I thought. He may not like me on a daily basis, but even he had to admit when I looked good. At the very least, he had to appreciate the change from this and my yoga pants that were so prevelent during testing weeks.

Finally, Nick snapped out of his near-coma state, and checked his phone. "Okay, it's ten fifteen. Let's get going." I nodded, my curls bouncing lightly.

"Okay!" This was going to be exciting, I hadn't been to a party in years. So long as I could ditch Mark I might have a decent time, I thought.
