The Boy Wonder

All encompassing. Consuming. He

took me by storm

He shook me to my core

Made me beg to him for more

Elation

Obsession

He made me want to dance more

than I wanted to sing

I thought I knew what love was

But he proved me wrong

So

So wrong

His love made sense

And made my head spin with desire

He never wronged me

He was kind

He couldn’t be mine

He took risks

Not a word escaped my lips

He held his heart up for the taking

But I refused to reach

I knew it wasn’t the time

He was still swallowed with wanting

himself

By a girl who didn’t appreciate

The wonders of him

That I saw from the start

He was mesmerizing

A kaleidoscope

A treasure

He was art

And I never thought I’d see the day

that someone could so easily

So flawlessly

Be original

And themselves

Who knew I could love

Someone

For being so shamelessly

inspirationally

who they are.

He hid his passions from

none.

And to someone as hidden

and afraid as I was,

being near him

breathed life

back into the pieces of me left.

He was walking,

living proof

that there was hope for love
