Your Quirk: "Empathy" It allows you to feel the emotions of anyone you touch. You can turn your Quirk on and off, so you don't always feel how someone feels when you touch them.
You were sitting in Class A's section of the stands. The first battle of the tournament was about to begin.
Midoriya came out, and a boy with crazy purple hair came out. You watched the two fight. It wasn't very intense visually; but with your Quirk, you could tell it was intense emotionally.
You heard the purple-haired boy, who's name was actually Shinso,'s words. He was shouting them, and they were full of emotion.
"Thanks to my Quirk, I've been behind from the start. Someone who's been blessed like you can't understand, can you? Someone like you who was born with the ideal Quirk! Someone who can reach your goal!"
He ended up losing and seemed very dispirited. It made your heart hurt.
But, when you saw how his classmates praised and applauded him, it warmed your heart. What added to it, was when the pros supported him and said they wished they had his Quirk. Your heart practically melted at the touching scene. You almost cried. No one else seemed to notice this though.
You wanted to go talk to that boy. You wanted to comfort him too, and get to know him. You got up from your seat.
"Where are you going (Y/n)?" Ashido asked.
"Oh, I'm just gonna run to the bathroom real quick," You lied.
"Okay," She replied.
You walked into the building and made your way to the arena entrance, hoping to cross paths with the boy. You rounded a corner and bumped into someone.
"O-oh sorry," You said stepping back.
"It's fine," You hear a deep, crisp voice reply.
You looked up, recognizing the voice.
"Oh, you're Shinso!" You exclaimed,"You fought really well. Your Quirk is so amazing!"
"Thank you," He replied, although he still seemed upset.
"My name's (Y/n) (L/n). C-can I walk with you?" You nervously asked.
Shinso was surprised at the request from a stranger, but he nodded. You bashfully smiled and walked next to him. You both silently walked together with your heads looking at the ground.
"(L/n)," Shinso stated.
"Yeah-" Your voice cut off. Your body stopped and your thoughts were clouded.
"Why did you want to walk with me?" He seriously asked.
"I thought you were interesting in the battle and I wanted to meet you. I wanted to learn more about you," You stated in a monotone voice.
After you said those words, your head cleared up, and you regained control of your body. You realized Shinso had just used his Quirk on you. You looked at him, dumbfounded.
"Sorry. People normally want to become friends with me because then they think I won't use my Quirk on them. I just had to make sure you weren't one of those people," He informed.
You nodded.
Silence fell over the both of you as you two continued to walk side-by-side, down the hallway.
You looked up at Shinso.
"So, Shinso..." You started, "I saw you fight and I wanted to ask you a question -if that's okay with you."
He looked at you and nodded, as if prompting you to ask.
"Why do you want to be a hero?"
He stayed silent.
"I-I'm sorry, that must have been too personal," You stuttered.
"No. It's fine." He stated. "You just can't help the things you long for. But you, in the hero course, wouldn't understand."
You looked away, embarrassed at asking the question. Your hand slightly brushed against Shinso's, and your Quirk accidentally activated. His emotions rushed through your body, and it coursed through your veins. You saw visions in your eyes, and you heard voices in your ears.
"Wow, Shinso, your Quirk is brainwashing?!"
"Seriously? That's amazing! I've never heard about that before! You could do as much bad stuff as you want!"
"Just don't use it on us, okay?"
You then heard Shinso's thoughts.
"Of course, if someone else had it, the first thing I'd think is that they'd use it for evil, too. 'Criminal'... 'It's good for being a villain, huh?'... I'm used to people insinuating that about me. But you know... But... I'm not..."
You felt the pain and hurt he had felt over the years. You heard the scarring, taunting whispers behind his back. You felt the tears pricking the corners of his eyes at times. You felt the sadness and discouragement he would constantly feel. You saw from his eyes how the people looked at him as if he was a villain. It was truly heartbreaking.
Your head was then cleared from his emotions.
"Shinso..." You quietly said. "I do understand."
He looked at you.
"People always said I could never be a hero. They said I'd never be able to do it with my Quirk. They'd tell me it's not fit for being a hero. Everyone said it'd be too hard and that I should give up." You continued. "But, I didn't have it as bad as you. I'm sorry you had to go through that, Shinso. You're not a villain. If anything, you're far from it. I hope you don't let anybody stop you from reaching your dreams. You're Quirk really is amazing, and your passion will bring you far. I think you can become a hero."
"H...How did you know all that?" Shinso wondered.
"O-oh. It's my Quirk. If I touch someone I can feel their emotions." You explained. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to used it without asking you."
Shinso was silent.
"Thank you," He finally spoke.
"What?"
"Thank you. No one has ever believed in me or understood how I felt," He explained.
You smiled, "Yeah, same here."
Shinso reached to hold your hand, but then stopped when he realized you could feel the emotions he was feeling right now. You noticed this and smiled at him.
"Don't worry. I won't use my Quirk this time," You assured.
He trusted your words. You felt his fingers lace together with yours. A blush rose to your cheeks when you felt his warm, soft, hand.
You didn't need your Quirk to tell you what emotion he was feeling right now. Or what emotion you were feeling right now for that matter. You just knew, you liked this emotion, and you were pretty sure he did too.
