This. Is. Impossible. I looked at Argo, trying to find a way to defeat him.Come on, Hiccup, you have to think... you always have a plan...
He cracked his knuckles and readied himself for the fight. I searched for my inferno, but it was not there. The guard must have taken it away from me yesterday.
"ROUND 1 - Hiccup vs Argo... BEGIN!"
Argo crept towards me. I took a few steps back and heard a giggle from the audience above.
If he killed me, I'll never get my friends out of here...
But I couldn't kill him. It's just not the way I do things.
"Um... Hey, Argo," I said as he walked in closer. "Do we really have to fight? I mean, can we end this differently without anyone getting - "
"NO!" He shouted, which kind of gave me a scare. "This is a battle, for survival. You kill me, you get to live; I kill you, I get to live."
I thought about what he said. "Yeah, I understand that. But all I'm trying to say is... look. I don't want to kill you. I'm only doing this so that I could free my friends. We're trapped and-"
"DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND?" Argo yelled into my face, "We're both prisoners. You want to save your friends. I want to save my family. But in the end, only one of us can do so..."
He suddenly drew out his sword and slashed me in the arm. I edged back a few steps and collapsed in the arena corner, screaming in pain.
"HICCUP!" I heard Astrid yell.
Trying to refocus, I stood up and readied my fists to punch. Argo ran towards me with his sword in the air. He waved the sword at me, I was fast enough to duck, which left his sword stuck in the arena walls. While he tried to pull his sword out, I quickly ran towards him and gave him a fist in the waist. He stumbled backward but soon got up.
"Sorry about that..." I quickly apologized. He looked even angrier than before, and with a battle cry, he sprinted towards me and gave me a hard kick in the Stomach. I fell to the ground and looked at Astrid. She had her hands covering her face - she couldn't stand watching me get beaten over and over again.
"I have WON!" Argo shouted in victory. "I beat Hiccup Haddock!"
No... he can't win. I need to save my friends!
I stood up again. He looked at me deep into my eyes.
"You're a tough one!" He exclaimed, "then I'll let you die in more pain."
I couldn't think of anything to do. He launched towards me again, and all I could do is run. I dodged his fist and ran across the arena. The crowd laughed.
I turned my head around. Argo was only one foot away. Without thinking, I punched him in the shoulder, causing him to collapse on the ground.
The good news? I found his weak spot. If I keep hitting his shoulder, he would soon be knocked out.
The bad news? It seems like Argo also found my weak spot. He quickly sat up and smashed me in the leg.
He broke it again.
