4: Friendship Over Love

Thankfully the day ended with no more needed drama. Haruichi texted that they should meet up after school that day. Hinata and Onoda had no classes late in the afternoon so they took a stroll around the university to get to know the place more up until they received a text from Haruichi that they were all gathered in the entrance.

"Sawamura where did you go?" Hinata asked once he caught a glimpse of Sawamura.

"Ah, about that.. Sorry, finding my bag took longer than I thought. Hehe..."
Haruichi rose his eyebrow at Sawamura. Since they have been classmates and team mates for three years, he could figure out when Sawamura was lying. Sawamura averted his gaze from Haruichi and whistled. He didn't want to talk about it for now.

"So how are you guys going home?" Hinata asked.

"Me and Sawamura take the train and we drop off at the same station," Kuroko said.

"Eh, really?" Onoda asked.

"Yeah, I found an empty apartment in that area. My parents and grandpa live far from here. Since I wanted to attend this university, I had to live alone. But nothing can stop me bwahaha" Sawamura said confidently.

"Me too! I live alone too!" Hinata exclaimed and shared an overly enthusiastic high five with Sawamura.

"What about you Onoda?" Haruichi asked.

"Eh, I live in Tokyo so I live with my parents. I bike home too," Onoda said.

"Really? Well I live with my relatives here. Like Eijun, my parents live far from here but I take the bus," Haruichi said.

"Well it's like we have to go our separate ways today. I need to buy some art supplies. I'll make a group chat for all of us when I get home. Bye guys!" Hinata said cheerfully and ran off waving.

"Well I'm going home too," Haruichi waved. Throwing one look at Sawamura.

CHAT. LATER.

Sawamura gulped and nodded. No one messes with Haruichi. Really. The Kominato genes are really scary.

"What about you Onoda?" Kuroko asked.

"Ah, I'm waiting for a friend. We bike home together. You guys can go ahead. Chat later?"

"Is that so? Then see you"

"Bye Onoda!" Sawamura shouted as he followed Kuroko down road to the station. Onoda waved at them. Onoda felt extremely happy, he was able to have friends on his first day of university plus a friend who was interested in the anime he liked! In high school and middle school he really had tough luck. Onoda was beaming with happiness on his own thoughts, that he didn't notice a person approached him.

"Oy Onoda, how long are you going to daydream there?"

"AHH. Sorry!" Onoda turned around to find Imaizumi standing behind him with his hands in his pockets.

"Let's go," Imaizumi walked to where the bikes were parked.

"Yup," Onoda followed. Their road bikes were parked next to each other.
They put on their helmets, wore their riding gloves and unlocked their bikes.

Onoda was really surprised to know Imaizumi picked the same university as him, though Imaizumi picked Medicine as his chosen course. But he couldn't have it any other way. Biking with Imaizumi has become one of his favorite times of the day and wouldn't waste it. Although Imaizumi will always want to race.

"So did you make any friends?" Imaizumi asked as they rode side by side.

"Ah! Yes I did! They were all so nice," Onoda smiled at the thought.
