14: A Chance

Kagami groaned. His fever has gotten worse and he was starving. His dad wasn't in the country and Alex was back in America. Which means he was all alone.

"Kagami? Are you awake?"

"Who..is..there?"Kagami asked. He looked up to see a blue-headed figure. His eyes clear to see Kuroko. Kagami jerked awake.

"K-Kuroko?! What are you doing here?!" Kagami asked as he tried to sit up. He slips and almost fell off the bed if Kuroko hadn't been there to stabilise him.

"I'd like it if you calm down Kagami. Taking care of you is difficult as it is," Kuroko took the towel placed on Kagami's forhead. He then replaced it with a new one.

Kuroko had to drag Kagami back to his bed once he fainted by the doorway. And it took him a lot of effort to do so.

"H-how did you get here Kuroko?"

"You called me,"

"What?!" Kagami fished for his phone. He found it under the mess of blankets. He might have accidentally pressed some random buttons as he rolled around his bed.

"You didn't reply to anything I asked and you were groaning. I decided to come check on you. I had no classes anyway,"Kuroko then exited the door way and returned with a tray. It had a bowl, utensils and some water.

"Here, I made some porridge. Eat some," Kuroko said as he offered a bowl to Kagami. Kagami took a sip. He couldn't taste anything but knowing how Kuroko put effort in it he knew it must be delicious. As soon as Kagami finished the porridge, Kuroko then made him drink some medicine just to cool down his fever.

"Are you sure you don't need to go to the hospital Kagami?" Kuroko asked. Kagami's fever wasn't going down and he wondered if this medicine was enough.

"Yes..after a nap. I think I'll be fine. Thank you Kuroko, " Kagami said weakly.

"Ok, I'll leave you so not to disturb you," Kuroko got up but Kagami shot out and grabbed Kuroko's hand.

"Y-you can stay here. It won't bother me," Kagami said. He actually wanted Kagami's company.

"You want me to get sick too?"

"A-ah no that's not what I meant?! I-"

"I was joking Kagami. I'll stay,"Kuroko then sat back down. He grabbed a book from his bag and leaned his back on the bed.

Kagami calmed down. He went back to bed but he kept his eyes on Kuroko's head. He couldn't believe that Kuroko was such in close reach. He wanted to nuzzle that light blue hair. Stroke his face....

Kagami went to sleep dreaming about Kuroko.

An hour has passed and Kuroko decided to do some stretching. He took a break from reading his book and stood up. His butt was kind of sore too. He checked up on Kagami. His fever has slightly decreased but Kagami was still sweating a lot. Kuroko went to Kagami's cabinet to look for a towel.

He then approached Kagami and wiped his sweat away from his face.

"Kuroko..."

Kuroko cocked his head. Was Kagamu awake? Or is he talking in his sleep?

"Kuroko...don't..."

"What is it Kagami?" Kuroko said softly and leans closer to Kagami to hear what he was saying.

"Kuroko don't go..." Kuroko chuckled.

"I'm here you idiot,"

"Kuroko.."
