I walked downstairs and had the breakfast as usual. Dad dropped me to the school and I walked inside
I saw cabir sitting in the class. He never does that. Something is really wrong.
I walked to him and sat beside him. The class was almost empty. I patted his shoulder and he looked at me and hugged me instantly.
"Cabir what happened?" I asked breaking the hug
"Nans.. he.. he went away.." cabir said
"Cabir calm down.. who went away?" I asked not understanding anything
"Ma.. Manik... he didn't even tell me... he left... he just left.. nans he went away without telling us.." cabir said and I felt like someone has stabbed my heart
I felt like someone threw me from the cliff, like all the butterfly's in my stomach died.. it felt horrible as tears made their way out of my eyes
"Nandu... nandu.." cabir shook my shoulders
"Cabir let's skip this period today... I promise we will be back till the physics period." I said and cabir nodded
We walked out of the class and sat in the garden corner.
"Nans.. I am sorry..." cabir said and I looked at him
"You don't have to be cabir.. if he would have loved me enough he would have trusted me to tell me" I said and looked away as tears made their way out of my eyes
Cabir hugged me and tears kept flowing from our eyes. We both wiped each other's tears and made each other smile.
Before entering the physics class we washed our faces and walked back like nothing happened.
They say love can heal a broken heart but I will say that friendship can heal a heart which love broke.
After the school cabir drooped me home
"Are cabir..." muku said as she saw us entering
"Hey muku.." cabir said with a fake smile
"Where is mum-dad?" I asked looking around
"They went to visit Mr Singh he is sick." she replied
"What happened to you both?" muku asked looking in my eyes
"Nothing." I said looking away
"Cabir.." muku asked looking at him
"I am sorry... actually... MA.. manik left.." cabir said looking at the floor while tears escaped my eyes which I was holding back since morning.
"WHAT? Where?" muku asked
"Sorry" cabir said as tears formed in his eyes while muku hugged me
"Mumma got his custody, and dad got mine while abhi bhai choosed to be with dad as he is 18." cabir said breaking the hug
Tears escaped my eyes.
"Shh... nans... you are strong enough to let him go..." muku said breaking the hug and I nodded
"Hug?" muku asked and we three group hugged
"I promise you nans, I will always be there for you as a best friend and a brother. I will never let you fall." cabir said and I hugged him tightly while my tears made his shirt wet
"NOW NO MORE TEARS.." Muku said wiping my and cabir's tears and we both nodded.
