Ten was slowly walking to the bus stop, checking his phone. He got a lot of notifications, mostly from Instagram. He was tagged on a few photos and videos of him dancing. His number of followers had increased from all of this featuring, he loved to read the sweet comments people from all around the world would send him.
"Ahem, excuse me young
man. Are you taking
this bus? I have a tight
schedule..."
An old man said.He looked up and saw the bus driver, looking kind of impatient. Ten grabbed his bright yellow bag and jumped in.
"Hold on, did you take
the bus this morning?
With the Seo guy?"
The man said, grabbing his arm.John Seo's name was quite known around Seoul, even though he did not participate to many events. His style and clothing line made him popular.
"Yes...?"
He answered."I think he dropped
this when he fell
this morning. You're
the guy that helped
him right?"
The driver handed him an agenda."You might want to
give it back to him, it
seems important since
he's a CEO."Ten nodded. He shoved it in his bag and walked between the seats until he found an empty one. He sat down and plugged his earphones in, then searched for the perfect playlist on Spotify. He was exhausted and the bus ride was gonna be long... The soft songs put him easily to sleep.
⚔︎
He walked on the side of the road, the bus had just dropped him off at the nearest stop. His mind was focused on Johnny; he wished he had asked him for his number. It would've been useful today, just to let him know he had his agenda.
He finally arrived in front of his house. He opened the gate and looked at the entry way; his parent's car wasn't there.
"They must be at
the hospital again."
he thought."Then I guess I'm still
eating ramen today ."He got his keys and unlocked the door. As soon as he got inside, he got rid of his shoes, tossing them near the door. He walked upstairs to his room and threw his bag on his bed, over a pile of clothes. He sat on his desk chair and checked his phone again; one new message.
From: Mom
We're staying at the hospital, doctors said it's gonna be a tough night for him. There's leftovers in the fridge. To: Mom
Okay. I'll come by later, tell him I miss him.He closed his phone.
The young man laid his hand on his wooden desk, scratching the back of his head. Him and his brother never had a good relationship, but he didn't like to know he was going through such pain. People like him didn't deserve to suffer like that.
⚔︎
He threw away the remaining of his ramen in the trash can and went upstairs. The boy walked to his bedroom, took clean clothes and then locked himself in the bathroom. He got rid of what he was wearing, revealing the thin figure he always hid under oversized hoodies and sweaters.
He stood in the shower, letting the water drop over his skin. He liked it, it felt like tiny cascades all over his body.
Ten grabbed the soap, vigorously washing himself to get rid of as much bacterias he could be potentially be transporting. His brother was sick, his immune system wasn't able to protect itself from the outside world. Resulting in him being locked in a boring beige hospital room, for now 3 months.
It made the dancer cry.⚔︎
Shivering, Ten walked out of his house. The sky was a deep shade of blue, the light of airplanes high in the sky could be mistaken as stars to children. Some cars passed by, blinding the boy's eyes. Finally, a taxi arrived.
He sat in the back and told the driver to get him to the hospital. He nodded, and the boy smiled, a sad smile. The man started to know him well, he had drove him multiples times to this destination. He was aware of his brother's condition but never asked anything about it; he knew it was a serious subject, hard to talk about.
⚔︎
The hospital was getting quieter at this time, patients were mostly already sleeping. Visitors weren't allowed, but for people like his brother they would sometimes do exceptions. Like always, he went took the elevator to get to the second level. The metal doors closed, leaving him alone in this tiny space.
They opened, revealing a long hallway leading to a desk. A nurse sat there, she was looking through documents about her patients. She looked up when she heard footsteps, and she smiled when she realized it was Ten. She got up;
"Hello Ten. It's nice
to see you again.""Hello."
There was an awkward silence, they looked at each other but no one spoke.
"I'm sorry, but his
condition is too
unstable for him to
be in contact with
people right now."
her voice sounded kind of sad"O-okay."
he hesitantly said"But there's always
the old method if you
want..."
she added, smirkingShe handed him a dry-erase board and a marked. Ten bowed and silently walked to the room number 208. He saw his parents waiting on chairs nearby.
A rectangular window, that was the only way his brother could see what was happening outside of his room. White curtains covered it from the inside. Ten took the cap off of the marker and wrote something on the board. He then softly knocked on the window.
A few seconds later, the curtains opened, revealing a young teenager. He had milky skin and soft features, hair like feathers and lips like roses petals.
He smiled when he read what his older brother had written on the board;
I missed you Jaemin ♡
