NEXT DAY
AMANDA
Walking into the breakfast room after a slightly restless night the room falls silent, every girl stares at me like I'd grown a second head or something. I guess news somehow spread that I hadn't turned up to my interview.
A couple of the girls giggle as I take a seat at the one free table, yes I messed up my interview but they didn't need to rub it in my faces. I would have slayed the job harder and better than any girl in this room.
"Good morning Amanda."
I look up from my coffee with wide eyes, "Marzia what are you doing here?"
Marzia stands in the open doorway looking stunning and more put together than she did yesterday, I guess she had every right to be here since she was helping Felix choose his production assistant.
"Would you maybe like to grab breakfast with me? I think I'll be much nicer company, Amanda."
"You don't need to tell me twice, let me grab my jacket."
Grabbing my jacket off the back of the chair I smile smugly at the two girls sat closest to me and walk over to Marzia. She giggles and hugs me before blowing a fake kiss at all the other girls, I guess she had her mojo back.
Leaving the hotel Marzia motions for me to get into her car.
"I said I would make things right so we're going to mine and Felix's favourite cafe and he'll be joining us shortly."
I stare at her in shock at what she was saying. I was going to meet Felix face to face. I look down at my outfit knowing I wasn't dressed my best to meet one of my idols, in my 'Stay Dead' Drop Dead jumper, black leggings and a pair of battered ankle boots which had seen better days.
"I'm not dressed nice enough Marzia."
"Your clothes express your personality, Felix wants to work with someone with a personality instead of a mindless drone. Stop worrying, if it calms you down Felix is talking to his management right now and telling them he's going to hire you. Congratulations Amanda."
This couldn't be happening, this didn't happen. Leaning back against the car seat I take a few seconds for the information to sink in.
"Wow, I don't know what to say. Thank you so much, Marzia."
She giggles, "You impressed him, Amanda."
We pull up outside a quaint coffee shop and get out of the car. I take out my phone and dial Ashley's number, but like before it goes straight to voicemail. She hadn't replied to any of my calls or messages since I got here, but on the app, it said that she'd seen them.
"Are you okay Amanda?"
Marzia holds open the coffee shop door and I explain the situation while we look for a vacant table.
"Maybe she's stressing out about London. You'll see her when you get back to Manchester. I'm sure everything's okay Amanda."
"I guess you're right, it's just she applied for me and we always share our successes. In a weird way, she's like my mum and sister rolled into one, so I guess I want her approval and attention."
I pick up a menu and try to get lost in it. Even though I can feel Marzia looking at me from over her own menu.
Marzia squeals, "FELIX!"
Putting my menu down I watch Felix walk towards us and Marzia's face lights up, the two of them really loved each other.
"Felix this is Amanda."
